    Eh, just picked up a 27" ATSC CRT and 14" ATSC CRT, both 4:3 standard-def for under $300 combined. I set the 14" next to the 27" so I can watch TV while using the Wii, and rigged everything so both TVs can take a signal from the DVR, DVD player, DVD recorder, or Wii (though only the 27" will work with the iPod dock). HDTV just doesn't hold that much appeal to me. at present.

    @etimy: See my above comment pertaining to how Samsung DLPs (and DVD recorders, both from own experience) die only a few short months after their warranty period runs out. BUYER BEWARE.

    @alexmg2420: So, from your own anecdotal experience. With no information regarding environmental factors, treatment of hardware, total hours of use, etc.


    I kill a dvd player every 1.5 years. Mine just get that much use.


    But, thank you for your mostly useless commentary about how and when Samsung products break. I've seen Sony gear do this, and just about every other brand. Except Vizio, because I don't buy their goatse boxed stuff.
