It was a mistake and they're not honoring it (boo), but to make up for it, they are offering everyone who ordered it a free 64GB SSD. It's not quite as awesome as completely owning their boo-boo, but it's damn close. The one catch is that you have to get back to them by August 11, or your order will be canceled. Moral of the story: Taking advantage of big companies totally pays off.

Dear Valued Lenovo Customer,

We are contacting you with regard to your recent Lenovo X200 order.

Please note that we recently experienced a web error which caused the price of the 128GB Solid State Drive to be erroneously listed at $0.
Unfortunately, we are unable to honor this pricing; in addition, the part is currently not available.

As a token of appreciation for your patience and understanding, we are pleased to offer you a substitute of either a 64GB Solid State Drive
or a 200GB Hard Disk Drive (7200rpm) free of charge in place of the 128GB Drive.

To accept this offer, please reply to this email and fill out the below fields by Monday August 11th with your selection.
*** If we do not receive a reply by that date, your order will be cancelled at that time.

[Lenovo - Thanks Alvin and Hex!]

<![CDATA[ Dealzmodo: Buy One UMD, Get the Second Free ]]> There is an alternate universe where I just rented a Betamax (Casino Royale, of course) from Hollywood Video. On my way home, I pop in a MiniDisc (probably to listen to this year's very successful, non-creepy Michael Jackson album which is, like, sooo good). But when I finally arrive at my place, I realize that I'd, of course, already bought Casino Royale on UMD. Hell, I could probably even dig up a copy recorded from TV on my 8mm Video Walkman, too. How silly!

Anyway, for those living in this reality, Amazon has a 2-for-1 UMD sale going on. When all is said and done, UMDs are going for about $6 a pop. [Amazon via PSPFanboy]

<![CDATA[ Dealzmodo: Sony's XEL-1 OLED TV In Sam's Club Bargain Bin For $1,748 ]]> Yeah, that's almost $800 under Sony Style's price. And yeah, it's still an 11-inch screen. But one you'll want to lick, it's so saturated and thin. If you were already eyeing an XEL-1 for the bathroom I'm guessing the $800 isn't a huge issue, but as Taco Bell says, "why pay more?" No word on where this shot is from, so call your Club before heading out. Also good to know you can apparently pick up an eye exam at the same location, once the colors burn into your retinas. <![CDATA[ Lenovo Webstore Mistake Makes X200's 128GB SSD Option Cheaper Than 80GB HD ]]> Get your orders in now, because you won't see a 128 GB SSD going for these prices, well, anywhere for several years—yet alone inside the tasty 12.1" Thinkpad X200. Yes, you're seeing it correctly—that's subtract $70 from the total, which comes to $1,434 with the mistake. Also notice the 64 GB SSD going for a real-world $830 premium. No word on how IBM will handle the mistake of course, but if you were planning on buying an X200 anyway, might as well give this a try and play dumb. UPDATE: Party's over, unfortunately. The 120GB SSD option has been yanked.

UPDATE 2: Someone who placed an order and called in to Lenovo has told us that Lenovo will be contacting everyone who went for the SSD and letting them know they won't be getting it, sadly. They will be offering their student discount rate though, which is nice. Thanks Alvin! [Lenovo]

<![CDATA[ Dealzmodo: PlayStation 3 Greatest Hits Start Today ]]> Other than the obvious star Metal Gear Solid 4, the PlayStation 3 actually has some excellent, exclusive (and non-exclusive) games in their repertoire. Starting today, many of these titles are being rebranded as "Greatest Hits" and will feature a new, lower $30 price tag. For those of you who prefer to shop new rather than dig through used title bargain bins, here's the short list of first wave Greatest Hits titles:

•Warhawk
•MotorStorm
•Resistance: Fall of Man
•Call of Duty 3
•Need for Speed Carbon
•The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
•Ninja Gaiden Sigma
•Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas
•Assassin's Creed

<![CDATA[ Seattle's Filthy, Prostitute-Ridden Automated Public Toilets Now Available on eBay ]]> After spending $5 million of the city's tax dollars on high-tech, self-cleaning public toilets and then watching them quickly devolve into disgusting havens for just about every urban deviance imaginable, the city of Seattle is trying to cut their losses by vending all five of them on eBay where they can be yours for $89,000 each, discarded crack pipes not included.

In theory, the toilets' self-cleaning mechanism is capable of spraying down the whole interior with water jets and detergent every day, but the drainage systems quickly became clogged with trash, rendering them completely useless. Drug fiends and prostitutes were also fond of the 20-minute auto-locking doors, but the depravity quickly became too much for everyone, says the NYTimes:

“I’m not going to lie: I used to smoke crack in there,” said one homeless woman, Veronyka Cordner, nodding toward the toilet behind Pike Place Market. “But I won’t even go inside that thing now. It’s disgusting.”

Warner Bros. is going cut prices on a smorgasbord of Blu-ray movies for retailers in September (some as low as $11), meaning you should see the them slide at least a couple of bucks.

No word on the complete list (it is lengthy though) or exact date, but some of the many flicks getting the cheapness are: The Shining, The Aviator, 300, and I Am Legend. Hopefully this'll push some of the other studios to lower prices as well, so Blu-ray flicks are more in line with DVD cost-wise. If there's one kind of war we love, it's a price war. <![CDATA[ Original Jawbone Goes Inexpensive ]]> While paying over $100 for Aliph's latest Jawbone may be a bit out of your financial means, their last gen model—which is still pretty great—has gone on clearance. Sixth Avenue Electronics is offering the Bluetooth headset today only for just $48.88 (plus $3.95 shipping). Red color only, but hey, red is flashy and you could really use some pizazz. <![CDATA[ Apple Back to School Promo: Free iPod touch With Mac Purchase ]]> ipodtouchschool.jpgJust a heads-up college students, in case you're in the market for a new Mac: Apple's annual back to school promotion is expected to kick off tomorrow, and it's rumored to top the nano they've been giving out for the last few. College students who buy a qualifying Mac will get a free 8GB iPod touch (or 8GB nano). The promo will supposedly run June 3-Sept. 15, but we'll know more tomorrow (or by WWDC at the latest) for sure. So hold off for another day, just in case. [Mac Rumors]
