Maybe it's just me, but if I really wanted to see grown ass men cry, I'd just start dating again.

<![CDATA[Digital Photo Bauble Lets You Spice-Up Christmas Trees With Inappropriate Pics]]> This is a 21st Century Christmas tree bauble: There's a 1.4-inch screen in there, powered by AAA batteries and 8MB of USB-accessed storage, and it's capable of showing slideshows of your pictures. Out now for around $12 each. Which is cheap enough that you could have a bunch of them on the tree, among the innocent tinsel and candy canes, set to display the kind of photos that'd really freak out the mother-in-law when she visits. <![CDATA[Hanging Man Lamp Will Knot Brighten Your Day]]> I'm not a big fan of subtlety, so when I saw Monday's noose lamp, I set out in search of something even more morbid. Lo and behold, the Colgao table lamp from enPieza! Studio in Spain, which really leaves nothing to the imagination. While the noose lamp could have been taken as an invitation to hang out, Colgao's message is much more "I'm at the end of my rope." These are dark times, my son, and if I'm going to be all gloom and doom, I want to be it all the way. [enPieza via crib candy]

<![CDATA[Japanese-Style Keyboards Look Almost Too Good for Typing]]> These traditional Japanese-style keyboards are a class apart from the grey or white boringness of the average keyboard. As well as looking different, and neat these devices are even handmade for that extra "creative" touch. The gold one's damn attractive and would look cool on many a desk: but not the green "kara kusa" one... that just looks like a typing nightmare. That attractiveness costs, mind you, as they're available for $154.90. Except the gold "Zip-Ang" one, which is a whopping $214.21. [Akihabaranews]

<![CDATA[Your Fridge Gets the Forest Effect with Leaf Magnets]]> Forget fridge magnet poetry— you know you only used it to make up smutty phrases anyway—stick these fridge leaves on that boring metal door, and you'd have your own indoor forest. Granted it would be much more "lovely" if it was made of real leaves not plastic ones, but I reckon they've got a charm all of their own. Designer Richard Hutten created them for office ceilings in a Rotterdam museum, and now they're being commercialised. No word on pricing or availability yet. [Dezeen]

<![CDATA[Safretti's Latest Wall-Mounted Gaya Fireplace Looks Like a Flaming Mouth]]> Safretti's latest in their line of wall-mounted fireplaces for urban living spaces without proper wood burning ventilation looks a lot like a mouth. A mouth much like the mouths Seth MacFarlane likes to draw on inanimate objects on Family Guy, which is why we picture this thing spewing obscenities, as well as 7.1kW of heat from its alcohol-fueld fire hole. The bad news? That 7.1kW doesn't really measure up against a real fireplace, so this is more for a mouth motif decoration than practical heating. [Safretti via Tuvie via MocoLoco via DVice]

<![CDATA[Cyclone Vertical Fireplace Makes the Human Torch Feel at Home]]> Just purchased a house but still manage to have money left over for decorating? Check out this vertical Cyclone fireplace. It's a freestanding wooden fireplace with two tall, vertical glass enclosures with spinning towers of fire inside.

The cylinders lets you have a 360 degree view of the fire, but the whole setup costs quite a bit ($3,799). It's not a great heat source, at 15,000 BTUs, so should only be used as a primary heater in more temperate climates.

<![CDATA[Adventures in Ugly Design: The Cable Carpet]]> Most of us try to hide cables under the carpet or along the walls or inside the walls, but this weird cable carpet displays them prominently. Designed by a German student, this rug has cable patterns cut out of it, designed for you to pass your cables through.

In our opinion this is pretty ugly, sort of like the living room version of varicose veins. Then again, in our homes you can barely see the cables thanks to all the electronics that are on the ground.
