Needless to say, some of you are really dorking the halls.

PurpleMonkeyDishwasher: Gates snowglobe?
Gawd:I have this somewhere, unfortunately it's somewhere where I don't know where it is.

rigtuitargod:@Gawd: I have one

PurpleMonkeyDishwasher: And of course the tree you guys featured before.
SaturdayMorning: Last year I decorated my tree with shitty old toys, including Goro and Gonzo.
kingbob337: This was referenced on kotaku actually.
knockers6: Done.
Dave on bass: I must endeavor to share a short video clip for this one.

My own nerd christmas; a couple years ago we wrapped all our gifts in Tetris shaped boxes. Video starts with the nerdly stuff on the tree, then the tetris stuff, then my Jesus action figure and circuitboard tree. Bonus - nerd music too.
wutlulzky: This "USB Christmas Decoration Kit"
is probably the worst i've seen...
cschweppe: My tree topper and favorite ornament this year
Rtarara: We opened presents under Christmas Buffy last year...true story.

<![CDATA[There’s Still Time For DIY Halloween Decor]]> Make brings up this handy resource to add a little fright to your front yard this Halloween. The Haunt Project is a collection of Halloween-related DIY projects, ranging from harmless decorations to stuff that's just dangerous.

The picture above is a crashed UFO prop, complete with chasing LED lights.

Or there are the "ghost sliders," where you attach a set of casters to kneepads in order to drift across pavement like a ghost. This is dangerous. Don't blame me when you end up eating asphalt instead of candy and get your jaw wired shut.

There are hundreds of projects at the link. Check it out if you need something to keep you occupied this weekend. [Make]

<![CDATA[Send Us Your Tackiest Christmas Lights]]> We're guessing the average Gizmodo reader is as much about the Christmas spirits as the Christmas spirit, and it's along those lines that we'd like to see your absolute worst (or best) holiday-decorated houses (example on left). Please send any and all pics to tipsATgiz, along with a brief description of location. While there's no million-dollar prize for our favorite participants, consider immortalizing your worst neighbor's jackassness on the pages of Gizmodo a gracious door prize for everyone. [image]

<![CDATA[Recycled Xmas Decorations — May All Your Christmases Be Geek]]> Are these the perfect tree decorations for green geeks? Possibly. Made from recycled CDs and circuit boards, they are heinously expensive (around $6 for a circuit-board dangler, $9 for the CD version. Or you can get a set of three for $16 or $21 respectively. Or you can not bother.

What do people who buy stuff like this put on the top of the tree, I wonder? [Nigel's Eco Store via Gadgets News]

<![CDATA[Kooky Christmas Decorations Act Like a Transforming Sponge]]> Place some bare framework festooned with folded paper into the included petri dish, add water, and a few hours later you have these elaborate Christmas decorations bursting forth as if by magic. It reminds us of compressing a straw wrapper, then adding a few drops of water—and voilà! It turns into a squirming worm. Looks like a Japan-only decora-toy, but fun enough to make it to these shores eventually. There's one for Valentine's Day, too. See the gallery below for before and after pics. [Tokyo Mango]

<![CDATA[Heat-Sensitive Wallpaper Changes Patterns When You Crank the Thermostat]]> This here is some fancy wallpaper that's heat sensitive, changing the pattern when the radiator comes on. It's a pretty sweet idea, and it looks cool, although I wonder if it goes from all to nothing like in these pictures or if it just stays in a halfway-there middleground most of the time. If that's the case, which is likely, then no thanks. Hit the jump to see it with the radiator off.

<![CDATA[Vomiting Halloween Decoration Nauseates Itself Into Your Heart]]> There's no better way to trump your neighbor's Halloween decorations than with a vomiting zombie-thing. CostumeFind knows what you want, and what you want is an animatronic man vomiting into a barrel when you cue the switch or press the foot pad. The decoration also makes a vomit noise, finally giving you the chance to trigger a block-long Trick-or-Treater vomit chain.

The device works on standard A/C power and comes with a tape player, a tape ripe with vomit sounds and an amp with speakers. You've got to provide the vomit, which is where you can get really creative and either make your own or stuff the thing with anything from candy to old syringes. A hilarious decoration with the best product picture I've ever seen, it'll set you back a small $2,880—which is so worth it. [CostumeFind]

<![CDATA[Charlie Brown's Pathetic Christmas Tree]]> Now here's a Christmas tree I can relate to: a 21" exact replica of Charlie Brown's pathetic tree before it was magically turned into something completely different by some energetic arm-waving.

It's yours for $24. Good grief. But I like it. And no, the psychiatrist is not in.
