The peripheral features a full-size layout, nineteen shortcut keys for direct access to Mac programs, an integrated number pad, no cords (using 2.4GHz wireless) and a 3-year battery life. We reviewed the diNovo Edge keyboard in August and loved it. This one, at $99, is about $60 cheaper without sacrificing too many of the features of its more expensive bigger brother.

Logitech Unveils Elegant diNovo Keyboard, Mac Edition

Cordless Keyboard Provides Exceptional Comfort of PerfectStroke
Key System, Convenience of 3-Year Battery Life, Integrated Number Pad

FREMONT, Calif. — Nov. 11, 2008 — Logitech (SIX: LOGN) (NASDAQ: LOGI) today unveiled the newest addition to its line of award-winning diNovo keyboards – the Logitech® diNovo Keyboard, Mac® Edition. In addition to offering the exceptionally comfortable typing experience of the Logitech PerfectStroke™ key system, the cordless diNovo Keyboard, Mac Edition provides the convenience of a 3-year battery life and an integrated number pad.

"With the recently released diNovo Edge™, Mac Edition, and now this diNovo Keyboard, Mac Edition, Logitech is giving people more options when it comes to choosing a keyboard that perfectly complements the Mac design," said Denis Pavillard, vice president of product marketing for Logitech's keyboards and desktops. "While the diNovo Edge keyboard is rechargeable and includes a TouchDisc™ and touch-sensitive volume control, our newest diNovo keyboard has a full-size layout and nineteen shortcut keys that provide quick access to Safari®, iTunes®, Expose®, iChat® and much more."

Featuring the classic diNovo design language, the sleek diNovo Keyboard, Mac Edition – with its high-gloss, semi-translucent Plexiglas® frame, sharp angles and thin profile (.87 inches or 22.10 mm from base to key caps) – is an elegant, modern accompaniment to any Mac computer. Plus, when it's time to rest between typing sessions, the built-in, brushed-aluminum palm rest provides a stable, satin-touch base.

For a typing experience that's comfortable and fluid, the diNovo Keyboard, Mac Edition features the Logitech PerfectStroke™ key system. PerfectStroke is designed to create longer key travel – 3.2 mm compared to 2.2 mm – than that of typical notebook keyboards, which means that the distance your fingers have to travel to activate a key is optimized for your comfort. And because micro-scissors distribute force evenly across key surfaces, even if you strike the edge of a key, the key stroke still feels the same.

Getting to your favorite applications is as easy as pressing the appropriate F-key. The diNovo Keyboard, Mac Edition delivers one-touch access to Mail, Safari, iTunes, Exposé, Cover Flow®, Dashboard, QuickLook and Spaces. In addition, Play, Pause, Mute and Volume buttons simplify media control. (Logitech Control Center software installation is required for some features.)

Because you often use your Mac computer in busy wireless environments, the diNovo Keyboard, Mac Edition employs Logitech's advanced 2.4 GHz wireless technology, which dramatically reduces interference, effectively eliminating delays and dropouts. And by optimizing the power management system, Logitech's improved wireless technology enables an impressive 3-year battery life – Logitech's longest.

The diNovo Keyboard, Mac Edition can be used with any Mac computer, including the MacBook Air™, iMac®, MacBook® or MacBook® Pro.

Pricing and Availability
The Logitech diNovo Keyboard, Mac Edition cordless keyboard is expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe beginning this month for a suggested retail price of $99.99 (U.S.).

<![CDATA[Lightning Review: Logitech DiNovo Edge Keyboard Mac Edition]]> The Gadget: The Mac edition of Logitech's Bluetooth wireless DiNovo Edge keyboard, which has been around in its Windows state since 2006. The Mac version has Mac-customized keys like Expose and Spotlight, as well as media playback keys and an on-board trackpad.

The Price: $159

The Verdict: High quality for a semi-premium price. The DiNovo keeps the same form factor as the old PC version, but adds Mac-centered function keys and shortcuts like Dashboard, Mail, Safari, iTunes, iPhoto, Expose and Spotlight, as well as custom playback controls, an on-board mini-trackpad, a volume slider and the obligatory command, option and control keys.

In terms of build quality, it's super stable and can stand up to quite a bit of hard typing if you've got hammer fingers. It's also on the soft side of keyboard (not like the IBM clackfests), so people who enjoy the latest Apple aluminum keyboards will definitely like this. In fact, it's probably even slightly more comfortable than Apple's, which is good, seeing as this costs about twice as as their wireless version.

There's no num pad, but even without it the keyboard takes up a not insubstantial amount of space on your desk. There's a nice docking station for recharging once a month. We'd definitely give this a thumbs up for users who type a lot to justify the $160 price tag. [Logitech]

<![CDATA[Logitech Makes Wireless DiNovo Edge Keyboard for Macs Too]]> Logitech's diNovo edge keyboard, originally billed as "the most advanced keyboard in the world" has only been available in Windows versions, but today Logitech are releasing a version for Macs. Just like the original it's got multimedia keys, "PerfectStroke" keys and a touchpad-like touchdisc, but this time it's also got Mac-specific keys for launching apps like Mail and Safari. Plus it's got a power button, so you can switch off your Mac by remote. It connects through Bluetooth, comes with a charger base/stand and will cost you a jot under $160. Press release below.

FREMONT, Calif. —(Business Wire)— Aug. 6, 2008 Logitech (SWX:LOGN) (NASDAQ:LOGI) today announced the perfect keyboard to complement your Mac(R) computer. The Logitech(R) diNovo Edge(TM), Mac(R) Edition is the newest addition to Logitech's line of award-winning diNovo keyboards and the first diNovo keyboard specially designed for the Mac.

"We're truly delighted to offer discerning Mac enthusiasts our highest quality in keyboard design and performance," said Denis Pavillard, vice president of product marketing for Logitech's keyboards and desktops. "From the piano-black finish to its built-in TouchDisc(TM) touch pad, the diNovo Edge can make it a pleasure for you to type, control music or launch your favorite applications."

Since the introduction of the original diNovo(TM) Media Desktop(R) in 2004, Logitech's diNovo line of distinctive keyboards has garnered many awards in response to its blend of design and performance. The newest diNovo keyboard is exceptionally thin (1/2 inch or 11.05 mm) with a high-gloss, semi-translucent Plexiglas(R) frame, sharp angles and soft-orange backlighting. The aluminum palm rest with anodized-silver finish looks good with any Mac computer, including the iMac(R) and the MacBook(R) Pro.

In addition to its design, the diNovo Edge, Mac Edition features optimized Mac keys for one-touch access to Mail, Safari(TM) and iTunes(R), as well as many other Mac-specific applications. The new Logitech keyboard even offers a Power button that turns your Mac computer on and off, while the TouchDisc allows you to scroll and navigate from your keyboard. Moving a finger up and down or across the disc moves the cursor on the computer screen, and moving the finger in a circular motion around the perimeter of the TouchDisc enables you to scroll horizontally and vertically through documents. (Logitech Control Center software installation is required for some features.)

For a typing experience that's comfortable, fluid and silent, the new Logitech keyboard features the Logitech PerfectStroke(TM) key system. PerfectStroke is designed to create longer key travel - 3.2 mm compared to 2.2 mm - than that of typical notebook keyboards, which means that the distance your fingers have to travel to activate a key is optimized for your comfort. And because micro-scissors distribute force evenly across key surfaces, even if you strike the edge of a key, the key stroke still feels the same.

An included charging base eliminates the hassle of changing batteries, with a four-hour charge giving you up to one month of battery life. A 10-minute power charge provides one day of use.

So you can get started right away, the new Logitech keyboard connects directly to a Mac computer through Bluetooth(R) wireless technology, providing a range of up to 30 feet.

Pricing and Availability

The Logitech diNovo Edge, Mac Edition cordless keyboard is expected to be available in the U.S. beginning this month. The suggested retail price in the U.S. is $159.99.

<![CDATA[Logitech DiNovo Mini Wireless Keyboard Controls Windows Media Center and PS3]]> UPDATE: We've confirmed the news. Here are all the pretty shots. Hit the jump for full information Kat from Shiny Shiny got an early hands-on with a Logitech DiNovo Mini, a $149.99 wireless keyboard which you can use to control your Windows Media Center-equipped PC and your Sony Playstation 3. With a nice size and apparently a good layout, it looks like a winner for any couch potato, if the couch potato didn't eat fried potatoes to smear with grease its glossy transparent finish:

Logitech Unveils Mini-Keyboard for Total Control of PC Entertainment from the Sofa

Logitech diNovo Mini Fits in the Palm, Offers Dual-Purpose ClickPad for Easy Navigation

LAS VEGAS — CES - Jan. 5, 2008 — Today Logitech (SWX: LOGN) (NASDAQ: LOGI) unveiled the Logitech® diNovo Mini™ palm-sized keyboard with media remote and ClickPad. Designed for people who have connected their PC to their TV, the highly compact, stylish diNovo Mini keyboard makes it easy to control PC entertainment from the sofa. For easy navigation, the diNovo Mini keyboard features backlighting and an innovative ClickPad, which can be used as a touch pad to point, scroll and click - or as a directional pad to navigate menus and make selections. The mini-keyboard uses Bluetooth® 2.0 wireless technology for unfettered use from the sofa or anywhere in the living room.

"The Logitech diNovo Mini keyboard extends Logitech's tradition of developing innovative products to meet the changing times," said Denis Pavillard, vice president of product marketing for Logitech's keyboards and desktops. "Today, more and more people are hooking up their PCs to their TVs. The sleek, minimalist design and thoughtful function make the diNovo Mini keyboard the perfect complement to the living-room or home-theater PC."

According to Logitech research, more than 60 percent of people who have connected their PCs to the television use this setup to browse the Web, view photos and videos from their personal libraries, and watch downloaded shows on their TV. They often use Windows Media® Center to manage and navigate their entertainment content, which, according to published information from Microsoft, is installed by an estimated 60 million people worldwide who are running Windows Vista®.

The diNovo Mini keyboard features a keypad, dedicated hotkeys for media players and Web browsers, as well as prominent Page Up and Page Down buttons, which allow people to scroll when surfing the Web as well as zoom in and out of documents and images. The keyboard even offers a dedicated button that launches Windows Media Center, as well as a row of media controls that allow people to adjust volume and easily play, pause, stop, fast forward and rewind. Finally, the Page Up and Page Down buttons allow people to quickly change channels while watching Internet-based television.

The diNovo Mini keyboard introduces an innovative, dual-purpose ClickPad. The round, thumb-sized ClickPad can be used as a touch pad to point, scroll and click. Or, it can be used as a media remote and directional pad to navigate menus and make selections. The ClickPad features two backlight modes. When in touch-pad mode, the ClickPad is backlighted in orange. When in media-remote mode, the ClickPad's directional buttons are backlighted in green. The keyboard keys, however, are always backlighted in orange.

Because Bluetooth technology provides long-range wireless control from up to 30 feet from the PC, people can type IM messages, enter URLs and search-text queries, as well as navigate Windows Media Center from across the room.

Extending the minimalist design Logitech brought to the Logitech® diNovo Edge™ Cordless Rechargeable Keyboard, the diNovo Mini keyboard presents a sleek silver-and-black profile that elegantly complements today's modern living rooms and helps eliminate clutter. Rechargeable Li-ion batteries last up to one month between charges, eliminating the hassle of replacing batteries. And because the diNovo Mini keyboard is so compact, there's no need to store it out of sight; the diNovo Mini accents any living room table.

Pricing and Availability

The diNovo Mini keyboard is expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe beginning in late February for a suggested retail price of $149.99 (U.S.).

<![CDATA[Unconfirmed: Logitech's Upcoming Mini Media Center Keyboard Revealed]]> A reader claims he just participated in a survey for a wireless remote from—probably from Logitech—that looks like it's in the final design stages. The tipster claims the keyboard is probably going to be branded either the "Slice", "Keymote", or "Digital Living Keyboard" under the DiNovo line.

Of course, this is a survey and all of this stuff is probably not even close to being final, but it's a nice sneak peek into what Logitech could be thinking about doing.

Thanks Tipster!

<![CDATA[Logitech diNovo Edge Keyboard Reviewed (Verdict: Expensive and Gimmicky)]]> Although the Logitech diNovo may be billed as "the most advanced keyboard in the world", its features don't quite live up to the name. Despite having a built-in wrist rest, touch-sensitive volume sliders, a touchdisc touchpad-like mousing area, lit-up function keys, and orange LEDs, but there's nothing here that screams revolutionary.

Yes, the diNovo may be just a 1/2 inch thick and has laptop-styled scissor keys (which we love) called PerfectStroke, but it's just another keyboard, just like the Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 7000. There's no number pad, because this is a media keyboard, but there are plenty of media control keys to be found. Also, it's rechargeable via a dock, and only needs to be juiced every 2 months.

If this keyboard were $100, we'd say this was a great buy for the features you get. But at its $170-ish price tag, there's just not enough "wow" here to justify the dent in your wallet.
