Does this mean Apple's planning on rolling out new stereo-enabled Bluetooth headsets with A2DP compatibility for iPhone 3.0 and iPod Touch?

It's not a product that we'd really kept tabs on, refreshing its store page every 10 minutes to note whether or not it was still for sale. But according to the MacRumors forums, Apple pulled the plug late last week. I actually don't know of a single person who used the headset (which is probably a testament to its quality or lack thereof), so this discontinuation is probably not the greatest loss to humanity. [Apple Thanks Brian!]

<![CDATA[80GB PlayStation 3 Not Exactly Discontinued, Just Bundled With Metal Gear Solid 4]]> The fact that stores everywhere, including Sony's own SonyStyle, were dropping the 80GB seemed to point to a conclusion that the 80GB was on its way out. Not exactly. As we found out today, the 80GB version is going to be back on June 12, but it's going to be packed with a copy of Metal Gear Solid 4 and a DualShock 3 controller. All this for the same price of $499. Yes ma'am. [Kotaku]

<![CDATA[Xbox 360 HD DVD Officially $50, Still Discontinued]]> Even though the Xbox 360 HD DVD add-on is discontinued, you didn't expect Microsoft to just give them away, did you? You did? Well then, this $49.99 liquidation price tag should be extra surprising to you. [Xbox - Thanks Daft Punk!]

<![CDATA[Microsoft Xbox 360 HD DVD Player Officially Discontinued]]> It was only a matter of time before Microsoft officially discontinued manufacturing the Xbox 360 HD DVD add-on, but it took them a few days longer than we expected. Their statement is finally out, and it signals Microsoft's official withdraw from HD DVD on the console front.

The good news is that they'll still continue to support and repair your player based on the standard warranty, but chances are you'll get little future use out of that player now that no movies will be made for it. What's still unclear is whether there will ever be a Blu-ray add-on to the 360 that's cheap enough to sell the Xbox + Blu-ray package at a comparable price to the PS3 ($399ish). We're guessing that something along these lines will hit within the year. [Gamerscreblog]

<![CDATA[Nintendo Wireless Wavebird Controllers Discontinued, World Weeps]]> Although the GameCube didn't really advance the gaming world in any giant steps on the software side, it did introduce to us the fact that a wireless controller can not suck. The wireless Wavebird controller, which eliminated wires in living rooms everywhere (not really everywhere, since we know how well the GC sold) has now been itself eliminated, which means your only choice for new GC controllers is a standard wired controller. <![CDATA[Unconfirmed: Xbox 360 Core Discontinued at GameStop]]> Kotaku reports that they've gotten tips from their GameStop employee readers that an email got sent out telling store managers to take down any signs relating to the Xbox 360 Core version (that's the gimped, hard-drive-less model). There haven't been any reports yet of the same thing going on in other retailers, but unless this is a GameStop-only thing, it seems like the Core is going to be discontinued this holiday season in favor of either only the Premium and the Elite, or a new Core-like bundle we've yet to see. <![CDATA[Unconfirmed: Nintendo Discontinues DS Browser?]]> This is unconfirmed for now, but some forum poster at Neogaf claims that Nintendo is going to discontinue the DS Lite web browser. Seeing as you had to pay $29 for a web browser that wasn't even that great, we can understand why. [Amazon via Neogaf via DS Fanboy]

<![CDATA[Canon Discontinues the 20Da]]> Looks like it's light out for Canon's 20Da, a unique but short-lived digital SLR designed for taking images of the night sky. Canon will close the shutter on the 8.2MP 20Da as of April 21st to make way for the new Canon 30D, according to DigitalCameraInfo.com. There was no word yet on whether a possible replacement for the 20Da—a 30Da perhaps—was in the works but it appears that this specialty model would be a "one-off" product for Canon. The 20Da, which was introduced last June, shared the same basic specs of the 20D but was designed to meet the needs of astrophotographers and included such features as a live preview LCD and a modified low-pass filter that was optimized to take pictures of the night sky in crisp detail. Though the 20Da was hailed for its ability to photograph such phenomena as red nebulae, appeal for the $2,200 camera was limited to astrophotographers and fans of the now defunct TV series, the X-Files.—Dan Havlik

<![CDATA[The Sony Bean is Dead]]> Sony has discontinued its sexy, sly bean MP3 player, hinting that it may have something better up its sleeve—debatable—and that this might not be the end of the bean—debatable. The Bean appeared last April to great fanfare and promptly fell off the radar as the Nano sucked up its market share. The bugger did get 50 hours of battery life, which was quite a treat.

I would suggest hunting up some cheap Beans and picking them up for pennies on the dollar.
