How much USB bandwidth do these things consume at full resolution?

And DealExtreme has a version for $56 or so. These things are pretty generic, aren't they? They probably all use the same chipset.

@notfred: There are two versions, one that supports a higher resolution (this one) and one lower one. Not sure which one's on DealExtreme.

Would this help you play a graphics intensive PC game on a mid-level laptop that didn't have a discrete graphics card? Or is it primarily for desktop extension?

A bit of a waste of money.

eVGA UV Plus USB VGA Adapter 100-U2-UV16-A1 USB 2.0 for under 70USD from Newegg. Same thing, great company, and has been out for awhile, been using one at work for almost four months with no problems.

@PocketLint: They would choke. If USB were capable of handling the necessary bandwidth for high resolution full speed video we'd be using it instead of HDMI as an interconnect cable.

Hrm, wonder if this will run into the same bandwidth issues that USB based HD tuner cards do with dropping frames.
