    @singlecoilpickup: LOL, it’s sad though, I’ve noticed most of the homeless bums around here are carrying cell phones. I’m sure they are probably all pre-paid junk, but I find it really hard to fork out my spare change into the cup of a man whose phone is ringing.

    @defn: Very good point. Would they have to rely on the NOAA? What if they change formats-- would Sony be responsible for firmware update rollouts?

    I think you can see where this is headed-- this could get complicated very fast, though I agree with you, I want the news and weather, dammit!

    @iomatic: It could connect to a Sony server to get weather and news. Also an automatic alarm for dangerous weather would be nice, especially for people who live in tornado alley.

    @Tank: I'm not sure I'd be so reliant on that. We have a Sony clock/radio that is supposed to be self-setting using some OTA protocol but it's NEVER set itself to the right time. It's always a good 12 minutes or so fast.

    @All Your Base Are Belong To Us: I have absolutely no gadgets that use Micro USB and have about maybe 10 that use Mini.

    Micro might be the standard for phones, but for general gadgets, I'm pretty sure it's still Mini.
