    @katieoh: No, I missed that one (link please). Actually, I dont let it all get to me like I did at one time. One of the advantages of age and experience is that I have learned to pick my battles. I can get mad, or I can do something about it. Being a goal oriented person, I tend to do something about it, if I can. If I have to get angry though, I get MAD. (Why do it if you arent going to do the HELL out of it?)

    Last time I checked, it was the 21st century. I remember hearing about a neighbor who smacked his wife years ago, she divorced him like a week later. I didn't think this was still such an epidemic, divorce isn't really frowned upon anymore.

    @darkstar: domestic violence is WAY down over the last 20 years, no doubt about it. Check the chart below (the most recent graphic I could find). But it's still a problem and rates of domestic violence generally go up in times of economic hardship so perhaps this is more to remind people that the issue hasn't gone away, and that it can come back.

    @Noobs-R-Us: I think suggesting that "they should show that also" just distracts from the issue. Females are far more likely to be victims of domestic abuse than men are, and near as I can tell men are more often the victims only in same-sex relationships. I'm all for recognizing that domestic abuse crosses gender and sexual demographics, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't put up a poster that brings attention to the issue just because it only represents the majority of cases and not every case.

    @Curves: I'm not a huge fan of that site you use as a reference. First, the 95% figure seems high - most of the stats I've seen have ranged from 65%-85%. Obviously the figures vary widely when you start to include domestic violence against teens (non-partner violence) and exactly how one defines "violence." Which leads me to my second issue with that website; they suggest that in "even" that 5% they claim where the man is a victim, it is justified. I thought we'd finally gotten past that "she had it coming" argument. To have it turned around to justify violence against men makes the whole site lose credibility for me.

    You know, I think I'm gonna go set up a Facebook account now that will be my "husband". Fake-husband account will immediately get commenting ability and on Gizmodo/Gawker media network because some one errrrr like in charge thought it would be great to trash this place with unscreened commenters.


    Then, my "fake husband" account will call me a stupid c**t and he will be banned. Then I will find that he is already having an affair with a Jezebel gal because he wanted a brunette. Then I will proceed to disable is Facebook account, thus killing him.


    No wait...that wouldn't work I don't like women! Que scenario 2. I set up 5 Facebook accounts to get automatic commenting status on Gizmodo/Gawker media networl, they are all women and all want to have group.....

    @webster32: If one were actually dedicated to the act and if he placed as much effort into suicide as he did murdering that poor woman he wouldn't be such a miserable fuck. Well, he's still miserable, but he would also be dead which wouldn't put a damper on anyone's day.
