i dont care if T-Mobile has very few 3g phones or that the iPhone isn't equipped to work on T-Mobile's 3g network... i'm much happier with them than i ever was with at&t.
@strider_mt2k: I would think so. This seems to constitute a material change in the service, which I would think would allow anyone to get out of their contract if they want to. Even folks with 3G phones, since they don't always operate on the 3G network. Of course, it's kinda up to AT&T to decide that, but I'm sure that with enough of an outcry (and getting the appropriate AG's involved) they'd have to let people out.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I really hope that they can get sued for this shit, as it's ridiculous that they'd treat their customers like this.
