    I If you want a cheap secondary TV like I did then they are fine. I have one in my room and it works pretty well for the occasional late night tv viewing or gaming session. Speakers are a little weak, but other than that for the price they are ok. The housing is also nice to look at...not as gaudy or flashy as the Vizio or cheap looking as a Westinghouse.

    The insignia ones are usually rebranded lower-end models from LG, samsung etc. I don't know how they got it to 600Hz though.

    *unofficial* BF ad scan from Target has the Westinghouse 32" LCD HDTV for $246. i have confirmed with corporate that you can buy that on Wednesday when the BF ad 'officially' drops, and then return on Friday after the trampling and death has finished, and they will price adjust me to the BF price. no waiting outside all night or risking murder when Target's doors open @ 5am or whenever. crafty, investigative shopping FTW!! :)

    Looks to me like they are finally selling these pieces of crap at the price they should have been all along.

    You're better off going over to Sam's Club and picking up the 32" Vizio they have on sale this weekend for 40 bucks more. It's a CR best buy, and a damn decent tv.

    TVs like this make a great gift for the tech impared loved ones who still haven't caught up with the times.

    Last Christmas I purchased a super cheap, off-brand, 42 inch 1080p LCD for my mother to replace her 15 year old 25 inch crtTV. I felt bad for buying her a cheap TV, but to her, I'm was her hero. Now, if only I could get her to watch better shows...

    For the love of Christ, don't buy this thing. Seriously. They get returned as defective more than any other brand Best Buy sells. They are NOT made by LG, any Best Buy employee with access to the inventory system can pull up the manufacturer. Do yourself a favor and wait one week to catch a killer deal on a name brand.

    @Dr. Evil Genius: The built in speakers are horrendous. But it's got an optical out. I hook that up to my receiver and it works perfect.

    Has a VGA in - works great for hooking my MacBookPro.

    @bornonbord: I circumvented the whole expensive 1080P process by buying a 24" Acer monitor for $250 after taxes (I live in NYC).

    Plug a few things into it and it more than does the job.

    That said, it will be replaced by a 52" XBR9 in the next 6-8 weeks.

    @nowayman: From experience of working at Best Buy and knowing the store from top to bottom, both the Dynex and Insignia branded TV's are made by LG.
