They should have made the seats out of Triscuits or something.

I wouldn't want to be driving this in a storm of any kind. My Civic 4-door sedan weighs probably 20 times what this does and it gets blown around pretty good on windy days.

    Nice golf cart.

    Sandy MacReedy:
I want you to kill every gopher on the course.

    Carl Spackler:
Correct me if I'm wrong, Sandy, but if I kill all the golfers they're gonna lock me up and throw away the key.

    Sandy MacReedy:
Gophers! You great git! Not golfers! The little brown furry rodents!

    Carl Spackler:
We can do that. We don't even have to have a reason.

Now the trick will be to get bamboo to grow into the desired shape by itself, eliminating the harvest-strip-weave steps in the manufacturing process. Seriously. Engineer the plant to respond to magnetic fields or somesuch, and you can create any shape just by setting up the fields the right way.

I don't know if anyone here is familiar with the Shell Eco-Marathon, but in terms of "ecocars", it's hard to beat that team from Germany:

Basically, their whole frame is made out of bamboo, the car's shell is made with woven silk, the engine bore is even made of graphite to avoid using oil. It's hard to get more eco-materials in a single car ;)

great idea IF YOU'RE A PANDA. You could drive to the zoo and you wouldn't need to stop at McPanda for breakfast on the way.

Concepts like these are necessary, but we need more electric conversion kits for existing cars, not glorified golf carts.

Car seems interesting, but whats MORE interesting, is the look on the driver's face.
    Either:
    1. She's embarrassed.
    2. She feels incredibly 'royal-like' with that kind of seating posture.
    or
3.Telling you telepathically to save her from the old man on the other side.

Why not just make a car out of paper! Or-or make a fighter jet out of peanut shells?

How is this any more eco-friendly than a loaf of bread and a bicycle?

As far as I'm concerned, if you want to go a fairly short distance - the sort that concepts like these try to address - and be "eco-friendly" about it, then just get yourself a hybrid bike, perhaps electric motor assisted if the distances almost make you want to hop in a car. As a bonus, it lessens the risk of you developing a FUPA and man-titties.
