And why can't Garmin offer a coherent series of products like every other company instead of a million different models with slightly different advantages/disadvantages?

Even if it's not necessary, given that it exists, why not add it to all models? It sounds like it could universally improve all directions. Otherwise, it sounds like they're saying the 845R model is real good about telling you about right turns while the 845L model is real good about alerting you to left turns.

TT already has lane assist, though they weren't the first, either. IQ routing is also fantastic on the TomTom.
TT has also had voice input for a while. There has been a Mic built right into the TomTom for as long as I can remember. I've had both a GO700 and a GO720 and they both have a Mic for voice input.

I have a Navigon and got a cheap 12 Months, every quarter update for just 20€ (Europe Maps).
And that was a smashing offering, considering, that usually, a map update will set you back about 100€, EACH TIME.
