Yeah, it's nice the way she has to describe what's going on where she is because instead of SHOWING WHERE SHE IS! they have her AS A HOLOGRAM AT CNN DESCRIBING WHERE SHE IS!
If i'm reading this correctly, Wolf won't be able to see the holograms sitting next to him - they'll just be live 3D models rendered into the scene for those of us at home.
Because *GASP* standalone holographic projectors don't actually exist yet.
So you won't be seeing any 'holograms', you'll be seeing video 'chopped into the scene. These are no more holograms than CGI characters in movies are 'holograms'.
Why can't they have "Naked News" election coverage using this technology? And I mean the real "Naked News" not Wolf "The Scud Stud" Blitzing the cameras for us.
That's the problem with this country. We are so divided that we can't even accept someone's political perspective and we become 2 year olds and cry an say, "I don't love you anymore, I'm leaving and never want to see you again". Mature? Hardly.
Personally, I'll have a cup of tea with an Obama supporter as much as a McCain supporter, I'll read a blog (a good one at that (GIZ)) even if they lean towards one side I'm not.
At the end of the day, we are all Americans (except ya Canucks, who talk shit, but I wouldn't be caught dead on your pond). Let's stick together (no association with Tmobile whatsoever, so no beef please)
@92BuickLeSabre: I was going to try retorting that it's idiots like media execs who are willing to blow money on tech like this that make it more affordable for industries like medicine that might make better use of it... but then I remembered I just can't come to Blitzer's defense.
@SilasEspesh and rjp: I can't tell you how happy it makes me that you each came to opposite conclusions, but were unified in blaming that conclusion on Wolf Blitzer.
There, the GOP now supports technology. Every issue can be solved the Republican way: a mindless, brainless, thoughtless chant that ignores the issues and gives people that can't make informed decisions something to say while the other side is doing all the work.
I heard Obama snorts crack, and eats babies. I also heard that McCain sold his soul to Satan and is required to sacrifice puppies on the first Tuesday of every month, and that's how he's been able to live for so long... if you call what he does living... So I can't see myself voting for either of them.
@johnnyabnormal: That link doesn't make it a straw? Obama saying its out of context? It would be out of context possibly if all we had is one sentence. We have the whole f'ing interview.
Dude, I'm sorry you pledged loyalty to this guy, and now your stuck between a rock and a hard place.
@Bladefist: Did you read the link? Palin is saying there is some sort of cover-up + they lift his words out of context. That is a fact. I'm not "stuck" for pointing that out at all. Btw, I HAD to share this with you:

My understanding was that there some forms of Holographic projectors. The one that Prince Charles used for example. This just doesn't seem to be one.
Its going to be a live set and you'll see the backs of people's heads who aren't really there every once in awhile.
Could do the same thing by just having a stand in sit in the chair...
11/04/08
wouldn't that simply be a "sit in"? it'd be pretty silly to stand in a chair.

I mean, normally I'm as excited for useless tech as the next Giz reader, but seriously....
