That's pretty much the point of it. A nailgun is going to be way faster than this thing, but when you consider the monumental expense that it'd take to be able to cover even just the basic types of nails, this is a much more affordable option for the do-it-yourself handyman. When I did theatre work, we had one framing nailer that could handle 16p nails, and one finish nailer. The framing nailer could probably fire any nail that was shorter than a 16p nail as long as it was still the same diameter, but you'd need a different nailgun for roofing nails, and another different nailgun for smaller common nails, and that finish nailgun only fired small finish nails...well, you get the picture. Mostly we just worked with drywall screws and cordless screwguns, since we needed to be able to disassemble everything when each show closed (and screws, unlike nails, can often be salvaged).
