    Thank God they haven't discontinued their Edison phonographic cylinder player. Wax cylinders loose all their warmth when you transfer them to vinyl.

    @Kevin337: The first movie I saw on LaserDisc was Blade Runner. It was also the first time I saw Blade Runner.

    I should get one for my parents before theirs truly bites the dust. It has served them well since we bought it in Japan in 1984. But considering their, frankly, quite impressive collection of LD's, they're gonna need something to keep them going.

    @OMG! Ponies!: It's time consuming but you could video-capture it to you PC, and go a step further and make "Best of OMG! Ponies' Spank-Bank" compilation DVDs for all your Gizmodo friends.
