3 meters long (that's almost 9 feet). Actually, unless you work for NASA, 3 meters is closer to 10 feet.

If its concave underneath, like I think it will be. You should make a spoiler out of it.

@OdeliaTermite: Spoilers technically make your car slower, since they create more drag. However, your car is more stable since there is more down force, so stability and handling are better at high speeds.

The website states that the table is 2mm thick at the edge, very different than just 2mm thick. Oh, and it comes in a stylish walnut veneer.

@Gann: I cannot imagine why anyone would want to cover up the carbon fiber with a fake wood accent. That just sounds ugly.

    Well, I kinda like it.

Carbon fiber table? It's a diamond in the rough.

So I know carbon fiber has incredible tensile strength, but how does this translate into rigidity? "Raw" carbon fiber just looks like very thin hairs.

@booo: by combining layers of woven mesh of those very thin hairs with a resin 'glue' that holds it all together

@wishnias: and of course, being a structural engineer, I couldn't help but take it to the next level and figure out how strong this thing could actually be.

Assuming it's only half a meter wide (it looks pretty skinny from the photo, but this is conservative), it should be able to withstand a point load of approximately 565lbs, which is far more than I'd trust to the glass table in my living room.

Without running a finite element analysis, this is only an estimate, but should be reasonably accurate.

@wishnias: I'd be more worried about the angle of the taper on the edge. Too shallow, and those edges are going to be pretty fragile, even if the center span could carry the load. Not to mention the points where the legs attach to the top.

It's so thin, I'm going to kill myself on that thing. You can't even barely see it.
