This is a serious question, and I would appreciate only "non-snarky/fan boi" responses(i.e. XBOX IS STUPIDZ!) Is the 360 a good system for your average/below average gamer? Is there a good backwards compatibility? I ask as someone who has a non HDTV, won't use a system to play movies, liked the original XBOX, and would like something to play to kill a few hours and isn't worried about online play. If so, are there any bundles, necessary/vital accessories, etc... that one should look for? I thank you all in advance for any help.
Yes, there are good games (both on the 360 side and the Xbox originals) and no, you don't need to be online. If you have Netflix I would recommend using Live to stream movies.
You don't need any special accessories. Not all Xbox games play on a 360, but most do. You can see the list at xbox.com
The two games included in this bundle are great fun, I think it's a deal.
@Islandkiwi: I have played Fable, which got me hooked, so the idea of playing Fable II is really intriguing, and more so if Fable can be played on it as well. I think one of the worst things I lost when my Ex left was all my saved games on her XBOX.
@SpongeSteveSquareDave_GitEmSteveDave: Fable II is much better than the original. I own all three consoles, but the majority of games I play are on the 360. And if it's a multiple-console game, I usually buy the 360 version because I prefer the controller.
i have an xbox and ps3. is live really that much better than the online experience with the ps3? i am not bashing the service, i just don't understand.
@Nick: What is this XBOX live? Seriously. The only Xbox I have ever encountered is the Ex's XBOX, which she took with her when she left. Will the 360 play the original Fable?
@ɹǝpılloɔɹǝdns: i guess it was trollish. @quidsquid: didn't know it was so cheap. i work at a bank and hear parents complain about it all the time. @d4rlp3nc1l: i don't care what you do with your money. @fastharry: can i borrow $20 bucks?
