That being said, someone help me apply these flame decals I got from my cereal box to my Dell. They will make it go faster.

if you were to be averaging 24 FPS, some spots would be faster, some slower.
those slower places would probably be high action areas, where you want the highest FPS....
the higher FPS the better!

1) i'm not sure whoever did the studies were gamers, or if they were even using videogames. It might be some kind of primitive animation wheel, or film (which is 24fps)
2) some might not be able to distinguish beyond 24fps, but often times what you see in a game is actually far less then what's reported, it just gets averaged out over a couple seconds of sampling rate. "jitteryness" is easily perceptible even if the FPS stays high
personally I can't see much difference once it sees the high 50s, but that's after a lifetime of staring at a computer screen. so much of these things are influenced by the observer's brain, it's really tough to put even a ballpark figure on it

You guys also forget that TV and movies have motion blur.

**pets black aluminum server case with no lights or gay acrylic sides**
Why would i want some flashy computer case? Its not like i can pick up girls by walking around holding it sayin "hey baby, its Ferrari red, wanna come back to my place and play crysis on it?" I'd rather spend the extra money and buy better pieces to go inside the case.
Its like why would you spend spent 10,000 dollars to make your moms old accord to look good, when it would still get its ass handed to it by even a BMW 3 series?

Mac pros are 8 cores! So stop showing off, first off your lying, you probably cant run three one gig ati chips + 2 quad cores + 16 gigs of ram with an 1200 Watt PSU. Plus 8 terabytes of data wont fit in a case, the most i have seen is 6 slots. So humm... that would make u a lier.
Next time your going to lie, check your facts first.
P.S. YOU LIED!

8 terabytes of data will easily fit in a case though. There are 1.5 TB drives, so 9 TB could find inside.

Great question. Why make a game where it's a big deal to have a machine capable of playing it as it was intended?
11/18/08
@v0ice: Because it pushes hardware makers to innovate. Also, because it looks better than any game out with the graphics at 75%. You don't have to play it with everything pegged at 100% to get the benefit.

Additionally, being a world-class gamer doesn't necessarily mean you're good with computers. Much to my chagrin, this mouth-breathing football player I used to know could consistently trounce me at Halo 2, but couldn't tell a stick of memory from a power supply to save his life. Or avoid his future of alcohol abuse and factory work.

Note: I realize this applies only to a small amount of people. But Falcon NW and companies like them are all small shops. They don't need to sell many of these to come out ahead.

If professionals like lawyers making $300k/yr and doesn't have time to build one as you say, do you really believe they even have time to for that sort of entertainment? Sure they may buy one, but I wouldn't consider them "PC enthusiast". Chances are, they probably have a high end home theater with Wii or 360 and just likes to play games.
My point is, buying something high-end right off the bat doesn't make you automatically into an "enthusiast".

It's automotive quality. At least, it was the last time I bothered looking at Falcon Northwest, which was years ago.
It costs a pretty penny to do, and fetches an even pretty penny from those that want.

Yeah, somebody at Giz looks to be just a bit trigger-happy; either that or s/he hadn't noticed that fredygamer was just following my lead with a folllowup parody entry.
Sorry, fredygamer, WE understood your joke.
11/18/08
Will it blend rules aren't enforced. I think we're all guilty of posting it once.
11/18/08
Umm...yeah...I got that. Thus my apology to fredygamer for his getting singled out and busted for what appeared to me to have been a purposely satirical entry--just like mine was. Same (attempts at) humor. Different handling by Giz.
It's not just the literal WORDS of a comment that bear scrutiny, it's also the CONTEXT which, in my entry and I believe fredygamer's as well, was PARODY.
