It's hard to tell in the context of 15 second clip, but did that have anything to do with the scene, or was it another one of their random "HEY LOOK WE'RE FUNNY" moments?
@OMG! Ponies!:
I think the beachball clip was a thinly veiled homophobic jab, because it resembles a rainbow and was portrayed with irony, depicted as someone lackadaisical and undecided and superfluous.
@n8equalsd: Just the fact that it's actually Patrick Stewart doing the voice of the CIA Director is funny as it is.
Stan's schemes and his solutions to various problems are so bizarre that they are hilarious.
We won't be missing much I bet. No doubt there would've been meh-inducing Win 7 plugs and maybe cartoon Lauren having sex with Quagmire while trying to find the perfect laptop for under $1,000. Giggity-Gawd.... #windows
I find it to be (mostly) funny. A few episodes from the tail-end of last season were bland compared to that seasons earlier episodes.
I think after South Park pointed out the obvious (Manatee-Jokes), people jumped on the band-wagon to show that, they too, have a superior comedy palette than the average Joe.
It's a funny cartoon, along with: Futurama, South Park, Simpsons, American Dad... they are all funny.
The Cleveland Show was omitted since it's only just started.
P.S. Dear Microsoft, you've clearly not watched an episode of Family Guy before. Don't buy till' you try (or in your case...torrent).
@macpatrik: I fell in love with Family Guy when it started, I watched every episode until it was cancelled. I didn't know anyone (outside my close friends) that enjoyed the show.
When it returned due to DVD sales, everyone I knew had heard of Family Guy.
It bummed me out that everyone started quoting Family Guy to me when they hadn't even enjoyed the first 3 seasons.
noob: Hey, have you seen Family Guy?
Me: I've been watching it since 2003.
noob: ... but it just started?
Me: *sigh*. #windows
@Bababoof is amazing: It's one of the only shows to get me to actually laugh anymore. The Brian-and-Stewie-centric episodes are wearing a bit thin, and I actually like the "It's like that one time..." non-segues.
Maybe I've become lame and my sense of humor lacks sophistication. Maybe I'm not smart enough to understand real comedy. Don't care. Family Guy is funny. #windows
Honestly... I don't blame Microsoft. I wouldn't want to be associated with Family Guy in any conceivable way. Ever.
I don't particularly like many TV shows, but I don't really hate any either. But this... Family Guy just stupifies me. I have never, ever, seen a single bit of it that made me even chuckle. I have tried, and sat watching episode after episode at my friends' behest... but I simply don't see anything funny. As much as South Park relies on toilet humor and vulgarity, there's usually a pervading sense of social or political themes (typically aimed at both sides with sniper-like accuracy) that one can find within the sophomoric humor. Family Guy, on the other hand, seems like an exercise in banal inanity with no relevant humor, and no sense of purpose, except to say shocking things that have no context. The most painful animation experiences I've ever suffered through.
@met2art: If everybody put as much thought into things they didn't like or understand as you do, I truly think this world would be a better place in which to live.
That being said, I can't disagree with you more. #windows
@met2art: The thing that gets me about Family Guy is how empty the whole series feels. Beyond the scattered skit humor, it doesn't offer much else. Frankly I think the only reason why the show still exists is because on a relative scale, it amuses people more than most of the other shit that's out right now. #windows
@UpsideDownPants: You do realize that there is only a short window in which to edit a post, right? Within 2 seconds after posting I edited to add the phrase, "except to say shocking things that have no context."
I very curious to know what changes you "continue" to see. I suggest you stay out of your parents' medicine cabinet. Abusing prescription medication for recreational purposes is no laughing matter (although in the right combinations and doses, it can be for the abuser). #windows
@Cory Youngs: I do think it's slightly amusing that fans of a cartoon that prides itself on being shocking, insulting, and random get very defensive about someone who acts the same way in reference to that very same cartoon. Hmmm... :) #windows
@met2art: i actually am fairly indifferent as to defending the show (which i watch only occasionally). my reply was based on an episode where peter believes himself to be a genius and proceeds to talk down to everyone that he sees as beneath him (read: everyone). i found it fitting given your verbose rant. i guess i should have known that the reference would fall on deaf ears.
Wow... Gizmodo has really become lame. Microsoft backed out becouse that episode decided to add some pretty offensive content. Microsoft wants to mantain a positive image, I realize that Gizmodo and they're 'mothership "Apple" don't care about a negative image, but maybe you guys could learn a thing or two from Microsoft.
@sunnydays86003: Playing it safe is never something worth congratulating. This whole fiasco reeks of MS's ignorance of the show, then having second thoughts. Yes, it probably wouldn't be a good decision, but why did it even get this far? #windows

Family guy has been hilarious since the third season. So all these pompous bitches can have fun watching 30 Rock and Ugly Betty. Ugh.
