    So... which came first? The mashup of all those Mario levels... then the set designer created the backdrop from that image?


    Or the set designer created an abstract backdrop of random shapes... and some geek searched to find which games it looks (exactly) like?


    I mean... it's not a coincidence... the backdrop is exactly the same as that image.


    What gives?

    @WiiPoleNotIncluded_GitEmSteveD...: Does it really piss you off? Yeah, it's stupid. The justification even more so. But it's one comment. If people would learn to just move along and not reply to useless comments, I would be willing to bet they would take a sharp decline in numbers.


    It's not like he's leaving a bag of flaming crap on your doorstep.

    @PollockRoc: Yes. Yes it does. 95% of the people here have sense enough NOT to do this. There is a reason there are "auditions" for commentors. It's so your first post on a Gawker site isn't composed of "FIRST!!1!!!" Comments like this are like that guy who doesn't mow his lawn on your block and has a bunch of old tires. It's an eyesore, and pisses people off b/c it's a breeding ground for mosquitoes and ticks, and it they get annoying.
