If The FF8 Gunblade Were a Mouse, It Would Probably Look Something Like This

By the looks of things, designer Andrey Chirkov is a big fan of Final Fantasy. His concept mouse seems to take its design cues from the FF8 Gunblade—or a hoof (I'm not really sure).

At any rate, whereas the gunblade looks tough and menacing, this mouse looks as though it would snap apart with a single click from a fat finger frantically firing in a FPS. [Project Page via Gizmowatch via Coolest Gadgets via Newlaunches]

Square Enix Making Final Fantasy Based iPhone Game

Square Enix, the famed Japanese publisher behind all 3,000 Final Fantasy games, is hard at work on Crystal Defenders, a new game for the iPhone based on the FF universe. It'll be a "defense simulation" game that utilizes the touchscreen, so I'm guessing it'll have more in common with Final Fantasy Tactics than Final Fantasy XII. It's due to hit the Japanese App Store in by the end of this year, with no word on an overseas release. Hit the jump for some screenshots.

PS2 FF XII Edition - Kookabookas!

What the hell are those little fluffy jumping guys called in FF? Kookaburras? Pookachookas? I don't know. I hate FF. Anyway, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan, in cooperation with Square Enix, presents the premium limited edition of PS2 package (SCPH-75000 FF) on March 16. It s the latest model of the PS2 (in charcoal black) with the emblem of Judge Master on the body and a copy of Final Fantasy XII. It includes an analog controller, an AV cable, an AC adapter, a vertical stand, and a specially designed mobile phone strap. No price yet, but rest assured it will be full of turn-based, Manga-tinged RPG adventuring featuring brain-dead heroes and complex—if not indecipherable—plot lines.

A Real Final Fantasy Potion

It only took Square Enix twelve games and numerous spin-offs to finally start profiting off those Final Fantasy fanboys across the globe. This is the drink called Potion. It will be released in March to coincide with the release of Final Fantasy XII. It appears to be just another cookie-cutter energy drink that contains enough Ginkogolobonotums to power a small car, or restore your "hit points," as geeks would say. At least this will go great with my transvestite Tifa costume for the next ComicCon.
