    Good story! Not mad about the Puerto Rican comment. It establishes quite a bit of humor.

    Good thing you didn't lead off with "I'm in town for a Lego convention. I think you have my phone." That would increase the chances of the guy pulling down your pants and making everyone laugh at you by about 6,000%

    @theCollector: What I want is a way for Find my iPhone to remotely engage the keylock and create battery conservation state for the phone that keeps it on as long as possible.

    No vibrate, just loud obnoxious ringing noise at random every few minutes.

    @mdoublej: The individual didn't give the phone to the bar to hold on to, and ignored requests to call its owner. I'd say it was stolen.

    Sadly, my wife just got her iphone jacked from her at the Wilson Red Line stop in Chicago on Friday, neither Apple nor At&T will do a damn thing about it. Worse still, they want us to pay 500 bucks top replace it.

    Soulless bastards.

    @Todd Buffington: Jacked as in she was mugged? Or jacked as in she had it out and visible where unsavory people saw her waving it around? Or jacked as in the was a flibbertigibbet and left it on a bench where someone then walked off with it?

    I only ask because there are a good number of people who will not own up to being absent minded and will blame others for their loss.

    I have tested it and find my iPhone is incredibly useful, but as mentioned it does have some limitations. Also keeping the password lock on is a bit annoying but it's a small price to pay.

    @thechansen: Can we start calling it Mobile OSX?: I wish we could remotely enable the tracking, and password lock.

    @Purple Monkey Dishwasher:
    Yes, it was (if you were there, I was the guy walking around with the just-released Classic Space tote bag). Aside from all the displays, there were all the cool people (I think BrickChick is my new favorite Canadian, I drove a LEGOLAND Master Model Builder to the event, chatted with two LEGO Certified Professionals, and that guy who's pictured on both Town Plan boxes was also in attendance) and the shopping (20% off at all the LEGO stores, plus the 50% off Damaged Goods sale, plus being able to actually _shop_ at Brickforge/Brickarms in person rather than online).

    Oh, and since you did skip the closing ceremonies, Kevin, you missed the announcement that Brickworld has revised their contract to reserve the entire hotel for the event starting next year.

    I like the bumper stickers that have really fine print that say "If you can read this, you're too damn close." or have a whole huge bunch of text and say "If you are reading this, you have too much time".

    @Hello Mister Walrus: Given the number of our employees that use BlackBerry trackballs while sitting in the porcelain palace of pottiness, questions like that have littered the help desk isle of our humble abode for many years. We have resisted the desire to place a web-cam in the stall for the definitive answer, but questions like these sometimes demand draconian measures.
