    For $600 you can get a nice wall mount AND have it installed.

    in all honesty I'd rather keep my current 56" on it's shitty plastic storage shelf (the kind that belongs in the garage) and spend that $600 (stand) for another 42" 1080P TV for the bedroom, and the other $300 (remote kit) on another TV in the bathroom or kitchen

    actually, the way our economy and prices are going I may have a TV in every room of my apartment by year's end

    If I got one of those things, I would mount it on the wall. The irony (TV mounted on wall-substitute mounted on wall) would make the effort more than worth it.

    @frigg:

    you would need a $199 wall mount to mount the stand to the wall though, no?

    @OctaviaAmyntor: That makes it even better! It would be a shrine to mounting. And then on the TV, you'd just show endless loops of national geographic specials of animals mounting.

    Can I get something that mounts to the ceiling and moves around like the eye in "Flight of the Navigator"? I could save energy on batteries by having the TV come to me.
