The Russians did not reveal anything new. For years, I have been publishing reports smuggled (during the Soviet times) from the USSR; obtained from Russian and CIS researchers (after 1989); or published in the Russian and CIS media. I am fluent in Russian and Ukrainian, and have been pursuing Russian-Eurasian paranormal research for years.
Here is proof.

Many years ago if I told you tiny life forms lived on you and around you I would be called a fool, today we call them germs.
Many years ago if I told you the earth was round and not flat you would call me crazy,Today we know it is round.
Just a few years ago if I told you there was something in existence that defies the laws of physics and can swallow a planet whole, you would call me a damn idiot,Today we know these as black holes.
Today if I told you there were intelligent beings other than humans in existence you would call me a nut job.
Don't live in a box people, think outside of it!!!
Meh. It is well documented that the USSR allowed and even encouraged UFO "research" to provide a cover/smoke screen for their balistic missile test work.
"It later turned out that said silvery suited creatures were merely dolphins. To save the government embarrassment they stuck with the story and filed it under UFO reports."
:P

You need two folks though, so this won't make your comment appear.
At depth, people get narc'ed. Although it is commonly called nitrogen narcosis, most any gas can have a narcotic effect. It happens around 100 ft.
The silvery things could be narc induced hallucinations. The decision to chase them to the point of death is CLEARLY the result of being narc'ed. Poor decision making mixed with over confidence is a classic and early symptom.
If you have the opportunity to work a com with a diver at depth, ask them to do simple math problems as they descend. If they go deep enough and the are susceptible to being narc'ed, they will get the problems wrong but insist they are right. At that point bring 'em up or risk listening to a divers last words like "I'm totally going to catch that silvery thing" *blurb*.
@The Lab: Let's watch each other closely for signs of HPNS, high pressure-
High Pressure Nervous Syndrome. Muscle tremors, usually in the hands first. Nausea, increased excitability, disorientation, delusions...and a partridge in a pear tree.
Look, they've ALL made runs at this depth. They're checked out.
The Air Force brought this space visitor to the White House for an interview with Eisenhower. Ike said, 'Give us technology, we'll give you all the cow lips you want.'
I will say this, when commercial airline pilots make visual and request evasive for 40 minutes over Alaska, there is some shit going down and it is not like anything that humans are flying. For me, that is very compelling evidence.
i'm GUESSING that none of these guys were on drugs. could some of the things they saw be the result of being underwater for so long? perhaps it was light reflections or some species of fish that they weren't familiar with?
or maybe they really did run intomething...i'd be kinda curious to know how sure they were of what they saw. do they fully believe that they saw men in silvery suits or do even they admit that it might have been a trick of the eye?
@michael haendler: Maybe we just can blame Nitrogen narcosis? Of course everything they state might be accurate, but until there is evidence we can imagine anything we want.
@DustyButt™: it wouldn't nessecairly have to be the "exact same thing" just something close enough. And multiple factors that applies to all of them might have caused the similar views.
think of it in this way: something affects their perception (nitrogen narcosis, pressure, dirty masks, the bad fish tacos they ate the night before, whatever) combined with them all seeing literally the same thing ( a piece of debris, a fish, whatever) could have them all agreeing on what they saw.

Be it space or sea, I'd just like to see some other cultures come into play so we can forget the differences of our own.
