    Don't waste your money, they are banking on you "forgetting" to mail your rebate in. I don't see a single thing on that list that you can't already get an alternative for free from filehippo.com.

    that Houston Fry's is not South Houston. Its in Stafford, which is SW of Houston. South Houston is the HOOD for real...

    and yes there is a significant difference between South and SW Houston.

    @Cordfucious of Tech Clan: There's a Fry's in South Houston, just outside of Clear Lake off of I-45. It's themed after NASA. Not sure if that's the one in the ad...but it is in South Houston. #windows7

    @bobluckey: Every single one of those is not worth my time anyway, free or not. My guess is they just needed an excuse to get people to clear the shelves for them since none of the employees ever sort things themselves. #windows7

    @imTheKing: Only half, and most of that software is garbage. I don't run any AV software on my computer other than Defender/now Security Essentials. I haven't had any kind of virus, malware, etc. in over 5 years and the last one I got was my own damn fault. You have to pretty much be trying to get a virus now to do so. #windows7

    @Mike Zuniga: That was Unexpected: Look, it's not your fault... Kittens have known about their ability to expoit Windows, Mac, and even Linux uses vulnerabilities by offering computer viruses with a side of kitten cuteness. Most of the time, the victims are hypnotized, so hopelessly twitterpated, that they willingly sign multiple consent forms to allow deep PC access (wow, that physiological euphemism is so wrong that I wouldn't dare undo it), giving up all rights to sue or seek damages. All for the promise of one more head-tilted, curious glance, one last slide across the floor into a wall, oneee lasssttt freak-out after getting wet.

    So in conclusion, Mr. Zuniga (know a Zuniga myself - not a popular name, but it precedes coolness) et. al., do not wallow in the regret of your innate weakness to the kitten. Instead, maybe stop looking at flash videos of people having sex. Or, just use your friends computer. #windows7

    While we're on the subject of Vietnamese (and I'm being serious here)


    Can anyone explain to me why that delicious Vietnamese soup has the Latin spelling of "Pho" when the actual pronunciation of the dish is more like "fua"?


    It doesn't work in French either.


    I've been really curious for the past six months when I realized that I've been pronouncing it wrong all my life as "Fo'" (but at least not like "po'" as I've heard some other folks do).

    For dropping 40 mil per year, that isn't that outrageous of a list. Since he isn't just losing 40 million, but actually losing some, winning some, losing some, losing more, winning some, losing some, etc etc, his play is going to be a ton; the casino will do anything to keep him around.


    And that pic looks like it could be from Mandalay Bay, but there isn't enough background for me to accurately make it out.

    I worked at Fry's for three years. Started as a cashier and ended up working as a computer salesperson AND a service tech at the same time. (The manager liked me.) First woman promoted to sales in the computer dept in that store. First person of either gender to pass the A+ test. Worked with some of the finest people I've ever had the privilege to know (almost none of whom were in management).


    Fry's owners are convinced that every employee in every store is only there for one reason, to steal them blind. I guess they were right!
