<![CDATA[The Lavish Vegas Demands of an Ex-Fry's Executive]]> Ausaf Umar Siddiqui was a Fry's executive who attempted to embezzle money after losing $120 million in Vegas over three years. Poor guy, Mercury News just received seven pages of his standard Vegas hotel demands.

Fiji water, grouped in bottles of three. Golden raisins and warmed mixed nuts. Aramis cologne and badger hair shaving brush. Lint-free towels. Dom Perignon Rose champagne and Kurosawa Sake in the fridge. And never, under any circumstances, approach him from behind...

Siddiqui also was quite particular about his body. Hotel employees had a long shopping list at Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Macy's, and, yes, Target and Wal-Mart, if need be, to purchase a Philips Norelco Bodygroom shaver with a fog-free shaving mirror, a Sonicare Elite 7500 Series toothbrush, Clinique facial scrub for men, knuckle Band-Aids, original ChapStick, Crest mint gel toothpaste with tartar protection and Trojan Magnum condoms..."Porn" had to be available in the bedroom...

Though you know the Magnums were just to get people talking. [Mercury News via bbGadgets]

<![CDATA[Fry's Electronic Store VP Allegedly Embezzled $65 Million For Gambling Debts, Probably Pocketed Some Slim Jims and an Odwallas Too]]> Fry's VP Ausaf Umar Siddiqui has been accused by the IRS of taking $65 million of Fry's company money to "fuel his lavish lifestyle and pay off gambling debts."

Siddiqui's downfall came when another exec found a spreadsheet with backroom deals for contracts (he was a buyer for Fry's). He'd then get vendors to sell stuff at an inflated price, pocketing the difference. Ausaf was able to do this because he convinced other execs that HE would be the one to deal with vendors, eliminating sales reps and saving the company money. Or so he claimed.

Then, he had vendors pay kickbacks of up to 31%. Which made him $65M in three years.

A formal charge is coming, but what I want to know is how this will affect Fry's itself (one of my favorite stops for electronics here in the Bay Area). Hopefully, it brings down prices overall, even though Fry's itself is denying any pricing problems were passed onto the consumer. [CBS13 - Thanks Bryan Adams!]

<![CDATA[Dealzmodo: New MacBook $200 Off at Fry's (Update: Too Good to Be True)]]> Apple might get a bit crazier than usual with their typically staid Black Friday deals, but Fry's is offering a pretty great deal right now: $200 off the new MacBook, making it only $1099. You probably won't see a better MacBook deal than that. Quantities are limited, so get crackin'. Update: Laaaaame. Fry's says they borked they ad, it's supposed to be the BlackBook. Also, San Jose only. [Mercury News - Thanks David!]

<![CDATA[Fry's Offers 20-Inch iMac Mac Mini for $794?! (UPDATED)]]> (UPDATE: The deal in question was a misprint in the Fry's ad and they actually meant the Mac Mini) Looking for a sweet Black Friday deal? Search no further if you want an iMac, because Fry's Electronics is offering a 20-inch iMac with a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo processor for $794. It's priced so low we're thinking it might be a misprint. Considering that the cheapest 20-inch iMac usually sells for $1199 (that's with the 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo), and this one with the 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo normally sells for $1499, this looks like it could be one hell of a deal. [Mercury News] (Thanks, David!)

<![CDATA[Dealzmodo: 32-inch TV for $399 In Bay Area and LA]]> Not much detail in this Fry's ad, but this is a 32-inch LCD TV that takes HDMI and has a 1000:1 contrast. No doubt an el-cheapo brand, you still can't really argue with $399 with no rebates. Check your local Fry's store for details.

<![CDATA[Treo 680 Spotted at Fry's, Palm Fans Wet Their Pants]]> Hop aboard the hype express, ladies and germs, for sharp eyes have spotted the upcoming Treo 680 at Fry's Electronics (of all places). No other news to report, other than that Palm must hate the media since nobody in the fourth estate has received one yet. Current rumors point to the device's release date as being November 5 for $275 with a two-year, soul-draining contract with Cingular. Happy happy, joy joy!

<![CDATA[Dealzmodo: Frys/Outpost Grand Opening Sale ... huh?]]> So I guess Outpost relaunched their website as Frys, today—wasn't Outpost always owned by Frys anyway? Regardless, they are having some pretty nice sales on their website including a 19-inch Samsung LCD monitor for $200, a 400GB external HDD for $260, a PS2 bundle that includes 10 games for $170 and a 37-inch LCD HDTV that even has in integrated tuner and HDMI for $700 with free shipping.

That TV is one hell of a deal. It may be the off-brand, Emprex, but it would sure suffice for any non-home theatre nut. Holiday gifts, anyone?
