Canon's G12 is a lot like the fantastic G11 pro point-and-shoot. Same sensor, practically same body, but now with 720p HD video and a "high sensitivity" mode. No fantastical advances—on the upside, G11 owners, don't you feel better?
Oh, I've been waiting for this little camera for a long time: A pro-worthy Nikon point-and-shoot. After the bizarre melange of features in Nikon's last flagship camera—uh, ethernet jack?—the P7000 is nakedly all about performance.
It's fat. It's $500. It takes fantastic photographs.
The rumored specs for the Canon G11 are a bit disheartening. The CMOS sensor we'd hoped for is a no-show, we're down to 10MP after the G10's 15MP, mini-HDMI yet no HD video...but look! It has a tilting screen!
