Dick Wang is the character played by Jonathan Ke Quan in the Goonies. He also was the same kid in Indiana Jones. His name isn't Dick Wang, it's Jonathan Ke Quan. Giz, I think you have cornfuuused your readers. Nice story though, if only you had better memories of said playdates.
@Chris Burns: There is obviously some virus at Giz that posts personal journal entries or something similar. Between this and "button phone" thats all I can come up with.
Oh and you're probably going to get disemvoweled. That seems to be a side effect of the virus.
@Chris Burns: @tande04: It's concept art based on a character in a movie called The Goonies, whose name was Data, and is described as
Jonathan Ke Quan (credited as Ke Huy Quan) as Richard "Data" Wang, an extremely intelligent and inventive Goonie, who idolizes James Bond and has many inventive gadgets, similar to Bond and particularly Inspector Gadget. Although many of his gadgets seem gimmicky and useless at first, they end up saving both the lives of the entire group and Data himself at various times throughout the story.
As this is a gadget blog, cool new concept art is interesting, especially when it features a character who was very gadget oriented. Since the writers here have an eclectic past, one of them, Jason, had an experience as a child where his parents told him he played with Mr. Quan. So in addition to posting the art, he added in a little anecdote. If I went a little too fast for you, let me know.
@SWAK_GitEmSteveDave loves->★: SteveDave, what is going on with all these facebook kids? Has Giz opened the flood gates or something. You seem to be the person in the know around here so that why I asked you..
@Thats Dr Bear to You: As I have said in previous posts, I consider them the kids on the short bus from the next district being shipped to the Gizmodo Academic Degree Getting Educational Tower(or GADGET) (disclosure, I rode a short bus to school for a time). They have every right to comment, but they haven't been around as long, and don't understand our ways. They are used to how they do it over in Shelbyville, and think "first" is really cool, as is "is this really news?" "why is this here?" "Can I play Crysis with a Blender?", etc... Yeah, there are some stand out kids, but for the most part, we should just try not to stare at them.
@SWAK_GitEmSteveDave loves->★: You are so wise in your ways, so is their ignorance contagious, I mean I won't stare but if I comment in the same thread as them will I catch anything? I'm a little afraid of these new folks, I don't understand their ways or customs....
@Thats Dr Bear to You: Well,if you did, you'd be the first ;) Luckily they are marked with the "azure f", so much like plague victims, you can spot the infected.
@LastOne: Well, while I don't mean to be a "site-ist", we can make fun of them if they do something site-eotypical.

That's a bummer you can't remember him. Maybe one day you'll remember that maybe you were just playing with yourself?
