I really think he means "Xbox" because I don't remember mouse and keyboard support for the 360 (it's been too long). That or Microsoft actually licensed this product for use with their rf. Then this would be totally awesome.
If the accelerometer can be tweaked to the point where one physical rotation equates to one 360 degree rotation in the game then I'm all for it, but it looks like he's turning 2.5x in r/l to do 1 full circle in the game. Same with Y/X axis.
Looks like strafing needs to be worked out in the same manner.
If he can do this he should have set it up properly before making the demo video.
@SQLGuru: I really don't have a problem with home inventors, or anyone for that matter, working from any space that works for them.
But really, if you're playing a decent multiplayer FPS game and you have to spin 3x as often to get the same # of rotations you're gonna puke your cheetos and rebull on the carpet eventually.
I'm just curious - all of you making 'redneck' jokes - do YOU have the ability to make a project like this come to fruition??? DO you? If not, then I'm just thinking you're a sad sad little bag of useless name calling protoplasm, perhaps a bit jealous as well, and I really wish you'd grow up.
This could be one of the COOLER things to happen to FPSs in a long time - Wii had the chance to make this happen, and they didn't (shit, they had the chance to expand on their Wii Sports package, such as a golf game based on the one in Sports but with a lot more holes/courses, which woulda been a no brainer, and they didn't even do THAT).
With a decent pair of projection goggles, dolby surround headphones, a big open space with no obstacles to fall over, this could be one of the most immersive FPSs EVER, just think about it a little bit.
I'm sold, once this is on the market, if it's reasonably priced, I'm buying one. I hope this guy has patented some of his ideas though, 'cuz this is begging to get stolen by one of the big boyz. Dirty ratz.
