    If I lose internet access, I'd do this.


    In fact I tried something similar as a warning a few days ago, but just sat at the end of the road.


    Lucky for me though, I have a credit card and im 19.


    900$ will allow me to give them a couple weeks of worry before I run out of food.


    I feel sorry for the kid.. when you love games it's just hard to let go.. even for a short amount of time :'(

    Yeah, all of these harsh comments when we don't know the situation. Kids were running away when I was a kid 25 years ago, but because their Nintendo was taken away or some other tiny stupid reason. Wasn't there even a Brady Bunch episode about that? Usually they'd return home after a day or so unharmed. In this case, it's unfortunate that it didn't turn out as we had hoped.

    I was never given limits on anything, even curfew (lived in suburbs). I turned out fine (well educated, good job, no smoking/drinking heavily/drugs). Parents, keep in mind that it's not strict parenting that makes a good kid.

    Very tragic outcome to circumstances we do not know enough about. I have an 11 year old son with a 360 and he is restricted on his use of it. Also he is well aware if he receives one grade below a C on his report card, TV, 360 and computer privileges go away until the next report card comes out with C's or better. Sometimes you have to get their attention and what they to with that is up to them. My brother runs the local food bank so my son has volunteered there and understands what it means to have something and to not have something. Although sometimes he needs reminding.

    I live in Barrie where this kid ran off and it is sad, and has had a large effect on the city. Very few things like this happen around here. My Condolences to the family. I hope people don't use this to blame gaming and gamers.

    Severe addictions to things can result in death whether you're an adult or a child and whether it's videogames or drugs/alchohol.

    What they are feeling huh. Screw it. I'm a parent myself and if i raised a brat that ran away because i took his XBox away because it affected his grades, i would beat myself. It's their own damn fault, plain and simple.
