    Does anyone at Gizmodo can really run 10 miles at a 5:17 pace?! Not a very accurate gadget, I'd bet.

    @gman2093: 10 miles in 5 min 17 sec? that's a little more than 30 mph. On a bike. Granted, I'm nowhere near an athlete, but when I get up to 25mph on my bike (going downhill), I feel like I'm flying.

    @badhatharry: That's shown as the average pace per mile for the 10 miles. Total time was 52:40. For a bike pace, that's sloooow. For a run pace, dream on.

    Where's the hydration source. An athlete needs to stay hydrated. Not that I would know.

    Sean, you're saying one of these two watches is "more stylish" than its hideous counterpart. *shakes head* Umm...perhaps you've posted the wrong pictures?

    So this is for people who run so far that they get lost and end up in the middle of a lake?

    @92BuickLeSabre: Well, silly, DUH! The lake is required so that, after cutting off miles from the race course, you arrive at the finish line looking sweaty! Winning the race all bone dry would give you away, pretty durned obvious...

    @CargoHoldNap_GitEmSteveDave: Cogent, I do not think it means what you think it means. Just a though since it makes no sense in the context of this thread. And cut the guy some slack, he was just telling a joke, not a very good one, but still.

    @eagles3: "Cogent, I do not think it means what you think it means. Just a though since it makes no sense in the context of this thread."

    My dictionary: cogent = convincing, compelling, strong, forceful, powerful, potent, weighty, effective; valid, sound, plausible, telling; impressive, persuasive, eloquent, credible, influential; conclusive, authoritative; logical, reasoned, rational, reasonable, lucid, coherent, clear.

    To my mind, each and every one of these synonyms makes perfect sense in GitEmSteveDave's usage. More to the point, the original poster's comment exhibited none of these qualities.

    @bosskev: Yeah you have obviously confused your dictionary with a thesaurus. I know they are both big books with words but they arent the same thing.

    But I'll indulge you and say that this was obviously intended as a joke and therefore was not intended to convince, compel, be strong or forceful, or any of the other things on your list. And therefore irrelevant, and incorrectly used.

    Co•gent: adjective (of an argument or case) clear, logical, and convincing. Now was Sean Murray making an argument or case, no he wasn't he was telling a joke. Making CargoHoldNap_GitEmSteveDave's comment an irrelevant and uncalled for poke at someone who uses facebook. Now if he had said cognizant, not only would he have been able to show off his "Im superior to you" words, but he would have made sense.

    @Will Nickelson:

    To clarify, I meant marking sites when on the surface floating above the sites. I've been using a semi-waterproof hand-held unit on the boat, but a watch just seems so much cooler, and better when not using a boat.
