I just don't know about visor displays being viable as a mainstream computer app. It's like jetpacks - seem cool but in reality totally impractical. I can't imagine sitting at home playing a game with a visor on, when you can have a big ol' HDTV in front of you. I find that engrossing enough, plus you can look down and see where your beer is.
Who knows though...I could look back in 30 years and seem like that jackass who didn't want those newfangled electric light-bulbs because my whale oil lamp suited me just fine...
@ilikedachacha: Excuse me? When a man makes innuendos it's ok, but not for the softer sex? I'm human; I'm single; and I open minded. Just because I can be as verbal as a man about my sexuality does not make me a prostitute.
im betting if you have the money to pay for the internet connection required for this, you have the money to get a decent gaming pc. At any rate, my 300kbs dsl probably doesnt cut it....
@enchantedduck: Stop with the lies. If I have $55 a month to spend on computer-related stuff and I feel the need to spend $50 on broadband (since thats what Comcast rips us off for), then no way in hell can I save up for a decent gaming computer at $5/month saved.
Stop thinking of broadband like a luxury, because for many of us, it's not. We pay for the broadband first and worry about non-essentials like upgrading later.
@blash: Yes! I pay for internet too and have about $10 extra to spend a month. So far I've got 150 months left until I can stop using the computers at my library for "special time", and get my own rig.
I have to say (even though this thread is kind of old so no one will probably read this comment), I've bought a few apps that are really amazing. I bought a music app that I love - it's a niche thing, a utility for musicians, that's really useful.
I still think there needs to be a much better system for learning about apps and connecting the good ones to the right customers.
this is why i only get free apps, or ones personally recommended to me. most of the paid stuff is just as much garbage as the free stuff, and, actually, my favorite game right now is free - Air Master
Well effin me and my current and long term efforts to develop the highest quality game ever for the iPhone as part of my plan to stand out in the App Store and surely get rick quick. Man, what an effin run-on sentence that was. All for naught.
Did anyone watch American Dad on Sun? I thought their fart app was hilarious. Introduce that into the app store and you've got a winner.
Makes sense. I would agree with the premise here but I think it also has to do with name recognition. You know what a mood ring app is going to do without even having to read the description.
@Kaiser 'Won't Play Crisis' Machead: I thought it was Seacrest. Of course, I also had a dream where little winged Seacrests were tormenting me, but I think that was from watching the Soup and the Technomage episodes of Babylon 5 on the same night.
@qwijybo: The Wii is a phenomenon. It has tapped into something deep within us-- which I call our common wii-ness. I think everyone should get in touch with their wii-ness.
