I sure like R2-D2 more than Darth Pumpkin and Yod-o'-lantern, but the most terrifying is the red ring of death pumpkin.

You got new ideas? Start carving, because someone tells me that next week there will be a contest coming up. Head to Unplggd for the complete gallery, including the best Mario of all times: Raccoon Mario. [Unplggd]

<![CDATA[Beijing WoW-Themed Restaurant Replenishes Your Health in Real Life]]> A Beijing man has opened a restaurant themed after his favorite MMORPG: World of Warcraft. After chomping down food, inspired by dishes from Azeroth, customers can log on at various terminals to play WoW.

He doesn't half-ass the WoW-themed décor either. The entrance is a real-life recreation of the opening animation from the game. The dining area, called the Hall of Snow Storms, features large plasma screens showing in-game action, as well as a towering World Tree in the middle of the room.

The owner said he'd created the restaurant in hopes that "people who share his enthusiasm for The World of Warcraft would find a comfortable gathering place." Well, my account hasn't been active for over a year, but rest assured, I. Will. Be. There. You know, for the Horde and all. [CCTV]

<![CDATA[Jimmy Fallon May Be the First Geek's Talk Show Host]]> In the second daily video for his upcoming show, Jimmy Fallon name drops services like Flickr and says he's going to have a laptop at his desk so he can Skype people. I believe him.

I've always liked the guy, so I know from his past standup material that he actually knows what he's talking about when it comes to things we take for granted. IM, Skype and Twitter (I'm SURE he's going to have some Twitter action) should all pop up once in a while as parts of his sketches, which makes him likely to be the first network nerd talk show host. Don't let me down, Jimmy. Do that Fallon name proud. [Late Night]

<![CDATA[Geek Gang Signs Might Get You Shot In Compton]]> First came Pharrell's hip-hop funk group N.E.R.D, then Chamillionaire's Ridin' (Dirty) was appropriated into White n' Nerdy, and now the disparate worlds of hip-hop culture and geekdom have crossed once again, with this poster depicting geek gang signs!

Macheads and Windows fanboys can now proclaim their love for their respective platforms through sign language...and oh damn! Is that a Linux Lover encroaching on your turf? Turn that mother out! All you nerds should be careful using these on the street though, since you could come across someone who might mistake them for their real-life gangsta counterparts. 7H|_|G L1F3. [Joey DeVilla]

<![CDATA[Show Your Tough Side With McPhee's Geek Tattoos]]> The ultimate geek tattoo could only be a transferable one. It's painless—although beware when peeling off the paper, as you might trap a couple of hairs which for most geeks can be a painful experience. This $7.95 pack from Archie McPhee has missed a trick, though. How about a massive line drawing of Jobs' or Gates' face for your back? Then you can strip off your black software T-shirt and really show your fellow tech fiends how you've suffered in the name of tech. {McPhee via Popgadget]

<![CDATA[GeekMan: For the Geek Who Has it All]]> If having buff action figures on your desk reminds you of your own flaccid muscular structure, then this Geek Man figure will make you feel like Dolph Lundgren. Complete with a BlackBerry, a Windows (Acer? Lenovo?) PC, an analog watch, coffee mug and gigantic spectacles, the Geek Man really does remind us to get out, exercise and play with some real-life people once in a while.

Maybe if you put him in a drawer with that slut Malibu Stacy, you'll have some Geek kids soon as well.

<![CDATA[The Best Geek Hotels in the World]]> Just because you are going on a vacation doesn't mean you have to leave the geek-esque lifestyle behind. HotelChatter compiled a list of some of the greatest geek hotels in the world and topping the list is the The Tribeca Grand in New York. Other notables include the Hotel @ MIT (actual name), The Wynn Las Vegas and other hotels from Buenos Aires, New Zealand and Tunsia.

I think the most interesting fact is The Hotel Royal in Munich that actually used Xbox consoles running Linux as the room set-top boxes. Damn, that is really geeky. Hit the link below to get all of the details on the top geeky hotels in the world, including a video tour of the Tribeca.

<![CDATA[Fabio an A/V Geek? Not Quite]]> We may have been entranced by Fabio's golden locks and savage manhood, but the folks at Sci Fi didn't fall for his suavity. In their interview of Geek Squad's newest Ambassador, Fabio coughs up a pretty interesting gem on the way his A/V system is set up.

One room is all Krell equipment — subwoofer, speakers, amplifier, DVD player, surround sound — and I have an HD projector that displays on a 15-foot screen. Of course I watch DVDs, but I also use a Faroudja line quadrupler with my laserdiscs. I have a big collection of laserdisc movies, because I started young. I've been collecting all my life. Laserdiscs have really good quality, but when you project them on a really big screen like the 15-foot one in my home theater room, the quality is not as good, so that's why I bought the line quadrupler.

Not to pick on Fabio or anything—he seems like the only guy you'd be comfortable letting your divorced mother have "relations" with—but we don't think he knows much about A/V other than to call in the Geek Squad guys for support.

<![CDATA[CNET Writer Gets Nabaztag, Fails to Fall In Love]]> CNET writer Daniel Terdiman is a cruel, heartless sort of dude: he got a Nabaztag (one of those electronic bunnies that reads you the news and wiggles its ears), but completely failed to fall in love with the floppy eared technological marvel:

I wasn't as impressed as I expected to be... Spoken messages from fellow bunny owners are fun. Even watching LapinLED do "tai chi" at random times was kind of neat...But ultimately, that's all there is. This is a $150 toy. It flashes. It speaks. But it's a novelty. And despite my initial excitement, I find myself a little underwhelmed.

If you want to send him some bunny love to put him back on track, his Nabaztag is called LapinLED and you can send messages here. Just don't send any rude messages: the idea of a cute electronic bunny shouting expletives across the CNet offices is just plain wrong.

<![CDATA[DIY Ethernet Cuff Links]]> What's a geek to do on those rare occasions when cuff links are needed but the rent-a-tux place forgot to include them? Make some yourself using UTP connectors—or Ethernet connectors—crimpers and some pair-wire. This is a pretty good idea and bound to make a splash at any event, given it is technology relate. These are also great because you don't have to worry about losing the cuff links since this DIY project is cheap and easy to do.
