The Price: $60

The Verdict: The results speak for themselves. I'm shocked at how much fun I had giving my co-workers beautiful new lady looks, so I can only imagine how much a girl who actually was interested in makeovers could get out of it.

The program was easy enough for youngins to use but still kept some important features like zooming, rotating and adjusting the size of add-on accessories, while also being able to import your own photos. I did find the available styles to be somewhat, well, homogeneous. The program promises downloadable updates, though, so hopefully they will add more diverse hairstyles and accessories.

Sadly, the hardware component isn't that great. The built-in webcam took blurry pics. The drawing pad wasn't very responsive and I didn't really find the need for it. Then again, I'm not used to putting on makeup.

All in all, it's a fun computer program and an okay gadget, not to mention a fantastic new way to imagine Jason Chen as a surfer chick. [GirlTech]

<![CDATA[Hi-Tech Shoes For Ladies Have Heel Height Extenders]]> Thankfully just a concept for now, the Goodie 2 Shoe is an idea in function, and definitely not in form. They're ugly, sure, but they have a neat trick: the heel is adjustable with magnets and hidden hinges, so a 1.5-inch heel suitable for work gets extended to a come-hither 3.5-inch for going out. Other parts can be customized, much like the latest Sidekick. Personally, we'd be confused if we saw an attractive lady in these shoes. It shows she's got a geek's mind, but also a geek's taste, which is not always what we're looking for. Still, we hope these appear on Lady Robocop in the 2010 remake. [Crave]

<![CDATA[Password Journal Shredder Pen for Teeny Boppers]]>

The young ladies are going to love this shredder pen that fits perfectly into Girl Tech's Password Journal. There are so many secrets for the young fillies, and here's a way to write them down and then shred them right up, Nixon-style. It's downright therapeutic.

There's also an FM radio inside with an attached earphone, so the snide little girls/women/bitches-in-training can completely tune you out, you, like, non-listening, like, non-understanding parent, you know?

<![CDATA[Girl Tech Voice Protected Journal, Foiling Little Brothers Daily]]> How many sitcom episodes are centered around a teenage girl trying to protect her inner most secrets found in her diary from her pesky brother? Well, just like cellphones have made "we don't know where our friends are" episodes unbelievable, this voice-protected journal may cause Hollywood writers to retire yet another plot device. The journal can only be open by the sound of the owner's voice, making the odds of little Tommy breaking in quite remote.

It has other exciting features, such as a light for nighttime reading and writing and an intruder alert, which I can only assume lets out a painful, high-pitched sound while releasing some sort of skin irritant. You can find it online for about $20. If little Tommy is smart enough to record Big Sister's voice then play it back in order to open the journal, call MI6 because he's a spy in the making.
