<![CDATA[Gizmodo Idol: Funny Honorable Mentions]]>
Some of the entries—like Tony and Juan's Rock Lobster—were too good to let die in the YouTube abyss, so here they are. Check out some of the more comical entries after the jump. Sorry to Tony and Juan, great entry but you guys won the War of the Worlds contest in March so we wanted to give others a shot.

Be sure and vote for your favorite Gizmodo Idol performance here and stay tuned for our next contest that should be coming up later this week.

<![CDATA[Gizmodo Idol Update: Tsk Tsk]]>
Come on folks, follow the rules. I hate being a meanie but you have to read the rules or get disqualified from our Gizmodo Idol contest to win Super.fi earbuds. A lot of our entries are pushing the 1 minute limit that was clearly stated in the rules. Also people are submitting videos that seem like they were made for other purposes and just thrown up on Youtube with new tags for our contest. We want original content, so give a mention to Gizmodo somewhere, or something so we know it isn't just recycled home movies. Regardless, there are quite a few interesting videos up on Youtube for the contest, along with the funny commentary from gizmodosimon. Check out all of them out here. Also check out gizmodosimon's critique of B Rabbit after the jump.

<![CDATA[Gizmodo Idol Contest Update]]> Earlier this week we announced our latest contest. We are giving away $450 worth of Super.fi earbuds, care of Ultimate Ears. All you have to do is get out that camera and film yourself singing a song. Well, a few days later we have two entries, and one unique surprise over at Youtube.

Our two entries include a guy playing an air guitar, and another person singing the Damn, It's Good to be A Gangsta song from Office Space. The pleasant surprise is two videos of a fake Simon Cowell critiquing the two entries. Gizmodosimon, whoever you are, keep up the good work. Hit the jump for the two entries and their critiques from our faux, random Simon Cowell. Follow the linkage here for complete details on how you can win the earbuds by making a fool out of yourself in front of a camera.

<![CDATA[Gizmodo Idol Contest, Win Super.fi Earbuds]]> Superfi-UE-SF5Pro_1.jpgTaylor Hicks doesn't have anthing on Gizmodo readers. Thanks to our buddies over at Ultimate Ears we will be giving away three pairs of noise isolating headphones to the winner. The total value of the three pairs of earbuds is $450, so we are going to make you work for it.

Get out that video camera and film yourself singing a song for us. We know they are going to be horrible, so limit it to one minute in length, please. Once it is put together all pretty-like, upload it over at Youtube and make sure you tag it with "Gizmodo Idol" or the entry will likely be lost in the Youtube abyss. You have two weeks to produce a video that will likely embarrass yourself to all of our readers. Extra points for costumes and lighting effects.

Deadline for submissions is Monday, June 19 at noon EST.

The winner will receive a pair of Super.fi 5 Pro earbuds valued at $250. The winner will also receive two additional pairs of the Super.fi 3 Studio earbuds valued at $100 each. The additional two pairs are to give to friends so they never have to hear you sing again. Thanks to Ultimate Ears for sponsoring this contest.
