Up there are the Baby-Gs, which come in some wild bright colors with a patent leather look, have the cool reflective back, and are water resistant to 100 meters. They also come in black and white with pink faces and run $80. See the gadgety Glides and the remixed retro styles down below.

glides.jpgThe Glides are the heavy duty models in the new lineup. They are 200M water resistant, have a Moon Age Indicator and Tide Graph along with the usual G-Shock features. The black, white and red are $100; the teal, a special collaboration with Hawaiian brand In4mation costs, $110.

5600s6900s.jpgCasio updated the classic 5600s and 6900s with a bunch of slick colorways. The 5600 is now available in black with red face and yellow with blue face, and the 6900s round out the rest in black/green, pink/white, white/blue, and blue/black. They contain all the regular G-Shock features, but are also 200M water resistant if you want to dive deep. All of these pieces will set you back $90, and everything is out now. [Casio]

<![CDATA[Crazy Kassou Car: Confusing, Like a Giraffe With Batwings]]> As a tall guy I can appreciate that designer Nicholas Lee Dunderdale incorporated an adjustable roof into his 3-wheeled Kassou concept car. The rubber "neck" can be raised or lowered depending on the passenger's need for headroom or better aerodynamics. But, to be honest, this thing looks like some sort of crazy science experiment. Like an unholy mixture of a giraffe, bat and a vacuum that surely goes against the laws of nature. I mean, what are those wings for anyway? Despite its odd appearance, the Kassou actually earned second place in the Car Design News Contest for 2008—although I wouldn't expect to see it on the street anytime soon. <![CDATA[ASUS Glide is Another Windows Mobile UI]]> ASUS is following in the steps of other Taiwanese companies HTC and Giga-Byte and making its own UI wrapper on top of Windows Mobile. In this case, ASUS's Glide might be—in this humble monkey's opinion—worse looking than Windows Mobile 6.1 itself, with clashing fonts, amateurish themes and backgrounds and a general discontinuity that isn't found in HTC's efforts. It does have a launcher, a photo app and a DJ program, which is probably useful for somebody somewhere. [Asus via Mobile Tech Review]

<![CDATA[Single-Use Video Camera Concept Takes the Pain Out of Converting Video]]> Here's another video camera concept from the folks at Yanko Design. The Glide, which is the brainchild of Greg Schramek, is a USB drive with a lens and controls for shooting video. Once you've finished shooting your digital masterpiece, you trade the drive in at a grocery store kiosk where it's converted into a DVD for you. No word on how much memory each device will have, and you'll be using a tiny LCD to frame your subjects, but I'd rather keep one of these in my gadget bag than an actual camcorder that can be lost or damaged. Plus, it looks a lot nicer than the CVS option.
