This topic of food fallicies also makes me think of the AT&T commercial where the dad leaves for a work trip and keeps sending pics of the monkey doll to his wife and daughter and in one point they show a grocery bag with 5! count them 5! loaves of baguette. Now I know that is supposed to represent the number of 'bars' you get with AT&T's service, but are we supposed to believe this mother and daughter are going to consume those 5 loaves before the go stale? I think not....

But seriously, one serving, then put the rest away? No one does that. Except one time when the pizza was REALLY nasty (to my taste), and I told my wife that she can finish it.

In fact, I think it's illegal to serve food in containers manufactured with recycled material...

However, most metro locations will not accept paper for recycling that has touched food.

Disagree. Very few cities recycle cardboard that pizza has touched. As well, you're now having the top part that hasn't touched the pizza before this concept unrecyclable in most places.

Apologies all around.
I asked my boss today, and he said, we were one of a handful of companies that accept it, and while that number is growing, it still isn't yet the norm. He said that the grease isn't really an issue, but it just takes an extra step to process out and must be sorted into its own category to be treated. Smaller Recyclers and large conglomerates don't often have the capital or time to perform this step, and thus, no pizza. its sad really, apparently there is a tax benefit for implementing the step. If your interested, You should contact your local Recycler to see what their policy is, as many times, landlords and even trashmen don't know if they are recyclable as the common knowledge says that they aren't.
again, sincere apologies.

No harm, no foul. FredicvsMaximvs is my favorite person. Ever.
I'm glad your company does as well. I like recycling.
