Greenpeace Green Scorecard: Nokia Wins, Apple Fails, Nintendo Crashes Again |

But help me god, the people commenting here are biased as hell. If it was the other way: Nokia bad and Apple good, trolls would be all over Nokia/Microsoft/anybody who isn't Apple, and celebrate Steve Jobs's eco friendliness and concern about the environment.
Not one person wrote: "Good job Nokia", or "Wow, Lenovo should do way better". Most of you are a trolling bunch of blind fanboys, the rest has my deepest respect, because they are the reason I read Gizmodo and not Engadget.

God that pissed me off. I turned around and told him "Listen, I permitted and built over 250 megawatts of wind power in the last 12 months. I think I've done plenty to save the planet."
The arrogance of some little college prick being paid by Greenpeace to collect signatures, assuming that average Joe me just rapes the planet everyday without a thought made me want to knock him on his ass.

Every mac I've ever bought since 1995 still works. I have a 2001 G3 iMac running Tiger in my garage streaming AirTunes. My G3-upgraded PowerMac 9500 is running Tiger, as well. Maybe if their old hardware was incompatible with semi-modern OS's or if it would actually fail, then there'd be a much higher recycling rate?
How's that for clarification on your 7-year old sales data, Greenpee's? Hmmm.....

Their own ethics don't match up with their purported goals most of the time.
Did any one else hear about the PeTA shelter that spent more than three quarters of its yearly budget on euthanizing stray animals? I think the operator was quoted as saying something to the effect of "Better dead than a pet!"

but fuck greenpeace.
their group and its ratings are driven by much more than environmental standards.

Definitely.

I looked at him and said, "I hate polar bears. Why would I try to save them? If I were face-to-face with a polar bear, do you think it would be trying to save me? No, it'd be trying to eat me. So the only polar bear I like is the dead kind serving as a rug in my home."
He blinked a few times, and said, "What about trees? Do you like trees?"
To which I responded, "Yep, I love them. Especially when they're cut up and lit on fire in my fireplace while I lounge about on my nice polar bear rug! No thank you, I don't donate money to terrorist organizations."

Yea, those 5 to the iPhone... and then add in their other 5,000 phone models they have.

I used to vocally support efforts like theirs, but they have turned into nothing but a ring of extortionists.
