One modder has felt my pain and hacked a wireless PS2 guitar to integrate with Guitar Hero: On Tour and allow full-out faux instrumental jamming.

The PS2 guitar was gutted of its electronics and hot wired to the DS controller. Plus, an FM transmitter was added as well so the game's music could stream through a home stereo, not just the puny speakers packaged in the DS. And from the looks of this video, it actually works. <![CDATA[Guitar Hero Gets Its Own DS]]> You know Guitar Hero has gotten ridiculously big when the franchise gets its own Nintendo DS. Coordinated with the Guitar Hero: On Tour launch June 22, a silver and black Nintendo DS adorned with the Guitar Hero logo will be available in a limited edition bundle. The price is yet to be announced, but specially branded DS systems rarely cost any sort of premium. The real price you'll pay is the irreversible damage all that heroin does to your body. [Kotaku]

<![CDATA[This Is How Guitar Hero Works on the DS]]> We long wondered just how it would be possible to play Guitar Hero on the DS in the upcoming Guitar Hero: On Tour. There was this big attachment thing and this pick thing and this "will people really play this in public?" thing. Now a new video explains the process in excruciatingly cheesy detail. Looking at the hardware this closely, I'm betting that the stylus (pick) is going to induce a lot more whining than the fret buttons. What do you think? [Kotaku]
