    bottom line is, Sony cant afford to play the price wars battle as well as Canon can right now and the quality is most likely going to be not quite as good as the Canon... in build quality and or image output.


    also no mention of a swiveling lcd like the Canon has either...

    @Wouldpkr: The previous higher end Cybershot that Sony released had a moving LCD for less than what this is asking for. For this price, it better have it.

    I'd generally stay away from Sony's cameras because of Memorystick, but I have an 8GB pro aching for something to use it.

    @Kaiser-Machead: I had almost forgotten that Sony's were still using Memorystick...Wow, I would have thought Sony would have learned a few things about using proprietary formats by now...

    @f/1.4 is the new f/2.8: Or at least have dual CF/MS slots like in there Alpha line of cameras.
