Hitachi-LG Brings Blu-ray and HD DVD Together in Combo Drive
Considering they had the first 4x Blu-ray burner, we're not too shocked Hitachi-LG is also claiming dibs on the first combo Blu-ray/HD DVD drive for your PC. The wonderfully named GGW-H10N Super Multi Blue will playback, read, and record single and dual-layer Blu-ray discs (at 4x or 3.5x) and it'll also have the skills to playback HD DVDs. Think of it as a BH100 for your PC. Here's the catch, when the drive hits shelves in May it'll go for $1,200, which is a little too rich for our blood. More »

LG Brings HD DVD/Blu-ray Combo Drive to Your PC
Just when we thought our living rooms would be the only places to benefit from that Blu-ray/HD DVD love that LG surprised us with yesterday, news comes of a new LG drive that will let us play both flavors of high definition discs on our PCs (along with traditional DVDs). As if that weren't enough, the new GGW-H10N will also be able to record 50GB of data on dual-layer BD-R/BD-RE media. The drive will be available in March, though we suggest sitting this one out considering its "under $1,200" price tag. More »

LG GBW-H10N Super Multi Blue: 4x Blu-ray Burner, Fastest for a While
The leapfrogging has begun with Blu-ray burners, with LG hopping to the next level with its Super Multi Blue (GBW-H10N), a 4x Blu-ray internal PC writer that can lay down data at 18Mbps. Why should we care? The LG Super Multi Blue's fastest competition can only write Blu-ray discs at half that speed, 2x. But with the slower-writing Blu-ray rewriteable discs, alas, LG's burner is still stuck at 2x. More »
