Spoken-word poet. Interpretive dancer. Trendsetter. And now, at long last, Internet Empresario.

How does such a critical darling make the nigh-impossible transition from world-class entertainer to maverick visionary iPhone app maker? Let's run over the list of what this world-shaking app can do:

1. Watch the music video for "Pumps and a Bump."
2. Follow Hammer's latest exploits on Twitter, like: "My Wife better be ready when Daddy get home !!! Too Sexy Fo My.."
3. Read Hammer's blog, which in a feat of synergy is pretty much just his Twitter but with videos.

The HammerTime app is available for free from the iTunes store. [Thanks, Joel!]

<![CDATA[MC Hammer Takes Time from His Busy Schedule to Play with Microsoft Surface]]> MC Hammer was out of commission for a while there but he appears to be back in big way. First we saw him in a full-on parody for Monday Night Football, and now he has been spotted enjoying the Microsoft Surface at the TechCrunch 50 conference. If I were the one wearing Hammer Pants in the '80s, I would try to avoid public scenarios that invite obvious jokes—but he seems to have come to terms with his past. <![CDATA[Exclusive Video: Flat Flexible OLED Screen Survives Hammer Pounding]]> What happens when you smash a super-thin OLED display with a hammer? Last week, Wilson and I learned all about OLEDs, but after our factory tour we were left with that one nagging question. Lucky for us, mystery solved, as UDC has the answer courtesy of this video demonstration. Personally, I'd like to see this test performed on more gadgets. Blending is getting a little old. [UDC]
