    @Kaiser-Machead: Aw, crap. Oh, well. I can be perfectly happy sticking with VisualHub until my install gets corrupted somehow at which point I'll probably have to break down and finally update my OS.

    @Pixelologist: Visualhub's not that fantastic for some duty, and even worse, Techspansion has closed its doors. No more updates.

    HandBrake continues to be a staple in any filmwatcher's repertoire. However, if your goal is simply to "get my DVD onto the computer" for later viewing, complete with menus/extras, and if you're on a Mac, there is a sassy new kid on the block. Check out RipIt. $19. I've tried it, about to buy it, and it seems to be getting (mostly) rave user comments.


    (No, I am not associated with RipIt nor do I have bad things to say about HandBrake, just pointing out options.)

    @bosskev: Excellent find. Thanks. I'm going to buy it and give it a whirl with the most troublesome DVD's in my collection (Funny enough, they're all Sony-made discs)

    Excellent. Version 0.9.2 is unable to rip WALL-E into a proper file. Hopefully this fixes that problem.

    @Kaiser-Machead: OK I need to RTFA. I was warned that this would happen regarding DVD decoding :( But at least I have a better replacement for VisualHub.
