    @dqkennard: since light bulbs float, I'm sure some would wash up on the beach when they fell off a ship. Gilligan would find them when he was walking along a beach, prolly right after discovering a Japanese sub and a WW2 sea mine.

    During the State Fair, the local CBS affiliate in town uses bikes to charge batteries which they then use to power their evening broadcasts from the fair.


    I'm sure the trees are powered by batteries charged by the bikes.

    It is possible that at peak times the bikes generate extra energy which could then be stored into a battery. Like the shake light. It still has a battery.
