Is cheating in the real world about sex, or the emotional "relationship", because if it's about the sex, then sex with a hologram would be cheating because it's still just sex.
If it's about the emotional relationship with the person with whom you are having sex, then sex with another person that's just about the sex is not cheating.
This all becomes even more complicated once you have human-like AIs.

Also, if the hologram is a prerecorded image or if it's a real time replica of someone else behind a computer probably makes a difference. One is like watching porn which many women will probably not consider cheating while the other is actually interacting with another person like phone sex or cybersex or whatever.

If your girlfriend/wife is not enough for you and you start looking somewhere else, despite making a commitment to love no other, then chances are she's not gonna be too thrilled regardless of the "realness" of the person.
Granted, few people make deep strong commitments to their girlfriends, so the above example is pretty much reserved for wives. But if you're ditching your girlfriend to go be with a Nintendo® VirtuaGirl.....just break up, dude. There's clearly something not right there.

Drew my inspiration more from Tom Paris, the holonovel ("Worst Case Scenario", "Author, Author" etc) episodes of voyager are like some of my favorites (yes even though they're from voyager.) Also the DS9 holo stuff.
