    Frying an egg on the plate, as in the picture, would create a stuck on mess you would have to scrape off the plate. Not sure eating off Teflon is a good idea either. If you use oil, then you have a half cooked greasy mess. Maybe ok to keep hot food hot, but I dont see cooking on it.

    Yes, because I don't already manage to burn the everliving fuck out of myself by pulling a piece of stoneware out of the microwave after 2 minutes.


    I really just need to be able to rest my arms against this to brand myself during dinner. Scorched flesh just adds an amazing aroma to anything you're eating.

    @92BuickLeSabre: You're not typically eating scorched flesh, just muscle and fat. Slightly different smell involved.


    Which is why BBQ smells good, but people BBQing their ex-girlfriends smells horrible.

    It's brilliant until you try to bring your plate over to the table and realize you're tethered to the wall. Unless, of course, you unplug the plate, successfully defeating the purpose. You can't win assorted Chinese manufacturers of novel goods! You can't win... By the way, does anyone else think this one: [www.designboom.com] looks like it's got Arabic written on it?

    @YoungDeezy: Well obviously not the entire plate would be heated, im assuming just the part when the food is (the inner plate), so the rims (what you touch anyways) would be un heated/safe. Or that would be the smart way of going about this product, anyways.

    @Shamoononon has a hebetudinous dog: It's funny you should say that about cleaning dishes. When either my gf or I are cooking I like to clean as I go which to me seems to save time in the long run. This usually ends up infuriating her to no end because every time she reaches for some utensil or other item she was using, it's already washed and sitting in the drainboard..

    As if I didn't have enough of a problem with restaurants where they caution me that "this plate is hot." At least those cool down. I can imagine hurting myself many times on this thing.


    Great idea though. Just not for us clumsy ones.
