    This is what I was expecting...
    tx2 with Win7. Few more months and I'll probably be able to buy here... can't wait

    The Windows UI just wasn't made for this...buttons, check-boxes, and the rest is just too small for using your finger.

    @Kerr: Actually the UI since Vista was designed for this sort of stuff. Remember that DPI settings can be altered to make the Windows UI elements larger which is perfect for fat fingers.

    The tools are usually there in Windows; people are just unaware of it or make assumptions about it.

    I don't know if it just the beta that is making this look sluggish and unresponsive or the crappy HP touchsmart PC.

    @MacDaddy901: It's not sluggish. There are moments where I don't hit the right thing, but "sluggish" is not the term to describe those moments. "Clumsy," maybe? I'm no hand model, that's for sure.

    It all looks a little sluggish and like there are still some issues with responsiveness.

    @benjello: I agree with @benjello.

    I brought this up during PDC 2008, and the response from the Microsoft folks was that the drivers for the HP which provide multitouch were "extreme beta", so perhaps that's the main cause.

    Anyone know what the touch technology is that HP is using? It doesn't look like capacative touch, like with the iPhones and G1's?

    @rizzle: It's actually an IR-based bezel thing—you don't have to touch the screen to "touch" it. Capacitive would cost $9,000,000 on a screen that size.

    I don't know what you guys mean by "sluggish." It reacts perfectly fine. I agree that some traditional moves aren't made for touch, like closing tiny windows, but the thing itself works fine.

    Eh - he's no different than when Lil Bow Wow or any other "Lil" rapper came out. They all had product placement in their videos and songs.

    Fortunately, I don't think Chris Brown (the older guy singing the hook) has done much of that in his videos/songs - but if I hear one more person under the age of 21 hollerin about a Black Card and not even knowing what it is...I might scream.

    And I hope this lil dude doesn't seriously thing he has swag. That's a man thing - and he hasn't even hit puberty.

    The teacher was not grading the paper, she was "creating" the paper (i.e. doing his homework), so the computer was somewhat in context (albeit used for nefarious purposes). Scooter was "the head of the class," not just because of his means and ways, but because his associate/brother was having relations with the teacher.
