    I know HTC already said that they're not making an Android version, but I really hope something with similar specs and sexiness and Android comes out from HTC soon. Otherwise I might have to go back to WinMo, despite my bad experience with a Touch Pro2 earlier this year. #htchd2

    @da-vid: They are.

    There is another upcoming VZW droid handset that is going to have just about the same specs. Not near as nice looking IMO but it might work for some. #htchd2

    @da-vid: No there are tons more coming than just the Eris. Eris launches on the same day as the droid but there are lots more down the pipeline. One of them is the "dragon" thats got the 4in high res screen, 1ghz processor, etc.

    Its a big push from VZW to try and basically take over the smartphone/app phone market. #htchd2

    All the problems I had with my old WinMo 6.1(T-mobile wing) phone seem to addressed by this beast...

    1.Crappy resitive screen - check
    2.Laggy bad lookin U.I - check
    3.Bad screen resolution - check
    4.Slow processor and low RAM - check

    I never had a mobile BSOD or any other problem.

    I'm selling my iPhone to get this.I already have decent cracked Navigation apps for winmo and I love the Sense UI so android is not my cup of tea. #htchd2

    @Aashish Bhagyanagar: Sense started in android.

    Touch flow was the old HTC skin. Sense is the new one that started on their android sets. This is the first sense handset for Win Mo. #htchd2

    @tande04: I am aware of that.What I meant was I am already quite familiar with WinMo and as they have ported Sense UI to WinMo now,I am more inclined to buy this phone. #htchd2

    HD2 because some of the things I currently do on my Palm TX, I want to be able to do on my next phone.

    When developers start making ports of the programs I use for Android, then all bets are off. #htchd2

    @FigNinja: Biggest want? Something to make Access Databases portable.

    Smart List has been useful on my TX. HandDBase is available for iPhod or WinMo. But I haven't yet found anything that'll serve the purpose on Android.

    (Replacing Access, while technically possible, is not an option.) #htchd2

    Goddammit! Just when I started to settle in on the Omina II, the Droid shoes up. Just when the Droid shows up: the HD2. Danm, Damn, Damn.

    Then again, didn't T-Mobile just get all their tubes in a broke?

    @ibelli: Pfft... your asking the wrong guy that question.

    I'd be waiting on a couple other handsets to add to that list. VZW's "dragon", X10, VZW's whitestone, whatever next gen iPhone... I could list phones I'm waiting to see for days.

    I was just talking to a friend today about this phone. One thing I hadn't even really thought about was using MS one note with the phone. Seems like that could come in handy for me. I'm giving win mo a second look. #htchd2

    @RayKinStL: Sure it's possible. Not easy since there are no android phones that match the hardware as the HD2 and thus you'd have to do some reprogramming on Android to make it run. #htchd2

    Current info shows the HD2 will have HSDPA @ 900 / 2100 bands so that's T-Mobile for sure. It will also work on AT&T's Edge network.

    Love the design of HD2 and its specs. But WinMo just makes me weep. That coming from a user of WinMo since 2002, who recently switched to a Pre and a Hero.

    But I am definitely up for the SE X10 though. It looks sooo sweet. Assuming everything works as promised.

    I might just have to switch to T-Mo and its lousy coverage just to get X10. :D

    However, just as a follow-up in terms of phone model considerations...HD2 wins my phone model debate right now. A snapdragon WinMo phone with Sense UI vs a non 1Ghz Android phone.. I love Android and primarily use Google Apps, but WinMo has been waiting for hardware to catch up, and it finally has. #htchd2

    With all of the T-Mobile outage issues (the sidekick fiasco plus now voice & data interruption), plus its limited network, I'm not sure that I could go for the HD2 if it was on T-Mobile, despite salivating over it for months. #htchd2

    @bullwinkle12: Why not the ATT Tilt 2?(Also known as the Touch Pro 2 by everyone else including HTC)

    Its out now, I have one in my hand. Best out-of-box ROM i've ever had on a winmobile device.

    So much so that I honestly don't think i'm going to use a cooked ROM.

    @matthew.franke001: Yeah I thought about the Tilt 2 or the Pure, but if I'm going to spend 300 on a phone, it better have a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Plus, all these next gen phones have the wow factor. #htchd2

    Already made my choice.

    ATT Touch Pro 2.

    3.6" 800x480 display, physical keyboard and winmo 6.5 with TF3d 2.0

    As much as I want that 4.3" display, I can't give up a physical keyboard.
