It still has a speaker and does the same LED-flashing face and wiggling in reaction to your music, but it's now got a plush body just like your teddybear, so you can, er... snuggle up to its writhing body? Hmmm. Anyway, the iDog Soft Speaker is out now for about $35. [Hasbro via Dvice]

<![CDATA[Sega Goes iFishing]]>
Following the huge success of the cute iDog as an accessory for iPod freaks, Sega presents the ifish. It moves in fishy ways when you play music for it. And it creates sounds, lighting effects and acts as a loudspeaker when connected to a digital audio device. I saw the prototype a few months ago at the Tokyo Toy fair and have desperately been waiting to get a grip on one ever since. Sega just announced the launch for January 2006. It's sure to sell out in Japan more quickly than the Xbox 360.

<![CDATA[Back In Black - The iDog]]>

The iDog, SEGA's toy robot dog that dances, lights up, and does stuff, has been bred in a new color thats not really...a color. Black. Demand for the iDog has been insane lately, with Amazon.com completely selling out of the white iDog. The black iDog will do absolutely nothing new. It will still dance. It will still light up. It would go nice with that new iPod Nano in black, though, so maybe you should get one. Pre-orders for this black mutt can be made for $24.99.

<![CDATA[iDog in Color for Holidays]]> Here's yet another animal-shaped robot looking thing that was hopefully made for children (but we know adults are scooping up). The Sega iDog is your usual robopet that reacts "emotionally" to anyone touching its sensors but it also comes with a built-in MP3 line-in jack for an MP3 player. The big news, however, is that you will now be able to get it in new pink and blue versions. These have been spotted on the Japanese iDog website but we just can't be sure if we'll get them here in the US yet.

<![CDATA[Here iDoggie-Doggie]]> We've already seen those dancing beer can-radios that groove along to FM broadcasts, but now the genre has moved on to "man's best friend." The Sega Toys iDog not only rips off Apple's packaging (like everything else these days) but it's AIBO-like facial expressions take a lesson from Sony as well. Just sit the iDog next to your speakers or plug it into your iPod's headphone jack and watch it dance along to your favorite trax. Seven LED lights in its face flash along to the rhythm and sensors in its face and tail detect light changes and touch to denote different emotional and musical responses. Its built in memory holds up to 70 songs and it can even create simple music through its movements. The only thing it's missing is the iPooper Scooper.
